Hello? I'm Lee Hak-rim, a designer.

Some people remember me as a designer who appeared on the survival program Project Runway a long time ago, while others remember me as a columnist or fashion designer who writes about fashion.

I am in the position of creating and running my own brand in this class, A to Z guide for those who want to launch a fashion brandI would like to deliver it to you. Here are some of the big topics I'll talk about for him: Note that “clothing design” is not covered.

  1. How to brand a fashion brand
  2. Know-how to develop product design ideas
  3. How to put your own philosophy into the product
  4. Add wings to clothes with small details
  5. How to write essential documents such as work instructions
  6. Understanding product production processes and distribution

Many challenges, and setbacks.

I majored in biology in Korea, but with a dream of being a designer, I moved to New York Parsons School of DesignI graduated from After that, I came back after a year of experience in New York My brand “20th Century Forgotten Boy Band” I made it, and I performed twice at Seoul Fashion Week. It was a great experience, but I realized it after a few years as a personal designer, as if I were heading straight to the ground.

“Ah, I'm not too prepared...!”

There are steps before clothes are made.

All of you will have big dreams and passions.

I started a fashion business because I liked fashion. You might have had a small success at first. However, as time goes by, there will be two thoughts that something is missing.

There is a strict process before a garment is made, and each process is surprisingly mathematical and requires understanding. If you don't go through those steps correctly, unseen failures will be repeated over time.

Fashion design? Technical package? production?

Is it all about having ingenious and original ideas?

Not at all. You have to draw a drawing as if you were drawing a blueprint, calculate the correct dimensions, choose the fabric, choose the auxiliary materials, and decorate the work instructions, and you have to directly manage the countless processes before the garment is made. But I don't think I've learned these things in school. That's because they don't teach you.

I will tell you about the big stems step by step.

Even if you have a great idea, the results will definitely not be good if you don't know what to do after that. Here's what I definitely want to talk about.

  1. A fashion brand is definitely not just a company that sells trendy clothing products or makes and sells cost-effective products. A fashion brand is a vibrant entity that expresses a designer's thoughts and philosophies such as a worldview through clothing. In this class, we'll talk about how to incorporate your philosophy into products when you build a fashion brand.
  2. Having an idea or brand is not important. After that, how it will actually be made into a product, and Let me easily show you the dozens of stages of commercialization.
  3. What are some ways to make my brand's clothing stand out from the crowd? Like the expression “the devil is in the details,” it's easy to think of, but in fact, those small details determine the quality of clothing. We'll tell you what the small details are and how to use them.

In this class, we never teach you how to build a brand that sells well or how to trick yourself into leaving a high margin. Instead, it's not a widespread “obvious brand” that sells well for a while and then disappears at some point, Here are some ways to become a brand loved by many people even after 10 years.
