Finished with tapestry weaving

Sensational color collage

What is tapestry weaving It's a method of making fabric using simple tools and hands. The principles are simple enough to be learned without difficulty even for those who have given up on basic hand knitting. Depending on how you apply several techniques and what materials you use, you can create a work with a completely different feel.

If knitting is connected by forming a loop with a single thread, weaving is the process of setting up a vertical thread first and putting a horizontal thread between them. Therefore, weaving works have a more solid organization than knitting works.

I like collages where blocks of shapes are stacked with lots of colors or cut and pasted on paper. I want to let you know about tapestry weaving with a different composition and attractive color as soon as possible!

When preparing for the class, I had the most important thing in mind: “Let's make sure that people who take the class don't lose interest and can continue to work in the future!” It was. I'll tell you as much detail as possible so that you can create as many cute works as you like :-)

Time to get to know Weaving

In this class, we will fully capture the charm of tapestry weaving Create a total of 5 works and complete your own designI'll try it. Even if you are new to weaving, if you follow the course content, you will soon find yourself freely continuing your work.

If you finish a work in a hurry because you want to meet the work soon, you may be disappointed because it doesn't meet your expectations, and at the same time you forget what you've learned. In this class, I hope you'll have plenty of time to slowly get to know tapestry weaving.

What kind of work will you complete?

< Straight shape cup/saucer holder: 14.5 x 16 cm >

To lay the foundation for tapestry weaving, cup/plate holder (I'll try to make a mug). Learn how to look at designs and basic techniques I will complete it by stacking up the colors one by one. Let's put a plate filled with jelly on the finished base. For some reason, I feel happy when I see cute jelly on a straight shape.

< Water Film & Loop Wall-Hanging: 14.5 x 21cm >

Next, you'll learn the “water mask” technique, which is made by twisting it into a pretzel shape, and the “loop” technique, which creates a loop with thread to give it a silky feel. Just by looking What is a monthly trip that makes you feel comfortable You can hang it on the wall, or hang it on a doorway, so every time you open the door, you'll feel like you're entering your own special place.

< COLOR BLOCK MINI TABLE MATT: 18 x 47 cm >

The mini table mat with a stacked color block design adds vitality to the space. Practice how shapes meet shapes, and braided fringes Learn how to weave outlines.

<color collage table mat: 37.5 x 26 cm>This table mat is perfect for putting a cup of aromatic coffee and sweet snacks on. If you make various shapes, connect the weaving patches, and finish the warp neatly, you will get a lovely table mat - voila!

<Knotted mini rug: 53 x 36.5 cm>

The knot technique works great on rugs. If you put your foot on a knotted thread raised with a pom-pom on the rug, the fluffiness will ease your fatigue.

+ I'll also give you additional drawings for you to work on after class (chapters 12 - 6 attached as a pdf)

Complete your own weaving.

If you get to know Weaving enough while completing the works, Apply techniques you've learned to design your own weavingIt's time to challenge. If you're not familiar with tapestry weaving, it's hard to estimate the finished shape, and mistakes are frequent, so I'll show you how to design a design that can reduce this inconvenience and the risk of reworking.

I think the most important thing in tapestry weaving is color. The balance and collision between colors gives an interesting composition. I'll show you how to combine colors in a fun way without being burdened with using colors!

Finishing weaving with confidence and completeness

It's fun to create a work by weaving threads back and forth, but it would be nice to create a work that is as complete as it is painstaking, right? We've prepared a variety of tips for creating beautiful works even for those who don't think they have dexterity. Let's also learn how to solve problems caused by weaving.

While taking this class A time to get to know weaving deeplyI want it to be. Let's level up your weaving skills step by step while creating colorful and cute works!

Detailed description of kit components

<Self-made weaving board>

It is a weaving board designed by myself so that I can carry it around and work comfortably anytime, anywhere. Conventional weaving frames are not easy to carry because they are bulky because things in the bag get stuck between nails or wooden frame grooves. You can use masking tape to fix the warp so that it doesn't move, and I use it very well.

N1 2LL

Hello, this is N1 2LL (N1 2LL) weaving. I love weaving fun color combinations in new ways :-)

At first, I just met with tapestry weaving as a major assignment that I wanted to finish quickly, but the more I did it, the more fun it was. I'm a person who loses interest quite easily, so I had no idea that working on weaving for this long would be my job. As I continued to work on weaving, I learned the fun of using colors to my heart's content, and how interesting the process of creating a new surface by piling up threads is.

Above all, while I was working on weaving, I focused only on my fingertips and threads, and I also learned the “joy of immersion.” I hope to share the appeal of weaving with many people.
