Realistic Drawing

Hello, Jjang Samuel here. Most of my drawings are about recreating real people as they are on a paper. I decided to open a class to share this fascinating process with you guys.

Draw That Feeling The Way It Is

We feel satisfied in the process of drawing attractive objects. At the same time, we try to draw it more similar, more alike with the object. At first, I also began to practice portrait in order to draw objects I liked as similar as possible.

Here is a comparison of the drawing I made when I first drew portraits with the drawing I made 5 years later.

However, no one told me how to draw or what points to pay attention to when drawing portraits. So I had to try this and that myself, try a lot of tools, and learn on my own. So it took a lot of time, and I went through a lot of unnecessary failure.

Hyper-Realistic Portraits, Step by Step From the Basics

I organized this class in the hope that all of you wouldn't get lost like me. That's why I want to show where you should put effort to. So that you can draw more efficiently without unnecessary trials. Therefore, my goal is to ensure that the effort you make does not go to waste.

Bringing Reality onto Paper

When drawing figures of real life, there a lot of parts that are hard to depict such as complex light and shade and overlapping colors. Realistic drawing is possible only by capturing these parts as they are in your work. Portraying the colors is what I am most good at. Through this ability, I would like to show you the process of capturing reality step by step.

Drawing the Shape of The Figure Easily and Clearly

What scares many people when drawing portraits is the shape. Don't worry! I will be using 'tracing', which is simply copying the shape of the figure, so that you can sketch easily and focus on expressing and coloring

Eyes, Nose, and Mouth in Detail

When we draw, we fall into stereotypes more often than we think. Because of this, I sometimes draw pictures that look different from reality. The same is true when drawing facial features, which have much impact on the impression. In order to draw a face without making a mistake, it's important not to fall into these misunderstandings. In the class, we will learn what points to pay attention to when drawing during this process.

The Process of Building up the Drawing

Pencils and colored pencils are tools we can easily see around us! Pencils can express in detail, and colored pencils are attractive because we can combine various colors and express soft light and shade with materials that can be easily seen around, I'll help you make a drawing of high quality that looks like a photograph .

Understanding Materials and Textures

In order to improve the quality of the work, various material textures need to be portrayed in your drawing. It is particularly important for clothing and accessories where many textures different from the skin appear! In this class, we will be analyzing light on different materials, the characteristics of materials and how you can apply these on your drawing.

Portrait Drawing, Depict The Figures as They Are

It's not hard to draw people, but it's really hard to draw similar to them. This is because you have to study anatomy, color theories and many other stuff with difficult names. However, you don't need to know all of this. You only have to understand, emphasize, and describe only what is needed to improve the quality of the work.

Experience Capturing the Moment on a Canvas

A lot of people looked at my drawings and told me that they want to try drawing, but it is difficult to start. I'm sharing with you the tips I discovered until I was able to draw like this. I'd like to help so that anyone can draw realistic drawings.

Reinventing characters in a world on paper

When I get caught up in one thing, I often focus on that object so much that I can't see anything else. Whether it's a person, a drawing, a book, or a movie, I'm so immersed in it that it interferes with my daily life. I thought this happened because I hadn't fully experienced the object, so my emotions are left lingering. That's why I tried to find a way to completely relieve that feeling.

The key was to draw the object exactly the same. The idea was that, since drawing an object exactly the same requires observing every aspect of it closely, the lack of acknowledgement could be resolved in this process.

That was the correct answer! As I drew, I felt the gaps in my emotions being filled. Furthermore, fascination toward the object became a driving force for me to work hard, which led to improving my skills.

All of you probably have a person, an object, or the medium you like. Embrace your emotions by fully expressing that object in your own world.
