Handles both Hangul and the alphabet well,
Do you want to be a recognized designer?
๐The designer's worries are endless.
- How much indent should I put when marking a paragraph?
- What are the standards for word hyphenation (hyphenation)?
- What is an โH&J violationโ?
Current junior designers who know how to do the basics of indesign have various concerns starting with the above concerns.
Not a function you use every time in the tool, There is a desire to do more sophisticated and systematic designs.
It's a sophisticated and systematic design. What can I learn to level up as a designer?
typography,
It's a hidden skill in visual design.
[Lecture and discussion on typography and typeface design using only typography (2017)]
๐Typography can be the answer.
In addition to book design and editing, typography is a measure of design ability, such as the ability to skillfully handle letters in branding, information design, UX, and even videos.

๐Classes for designers to level up
This class is designed for designers who have laid the basics down with InDesign.
I'll show you how to use the advanced features of InDesign to handle typography that has been completed to the next level, and how to use InDesign efficiently.
From now on, the class's 3 featuresI would like to introduce.
1. We focus on practical work.
๐ Q) Why do Garmond fonts and Helvetica fonts look different even though they're the same 10pt size?
I made it by instructing the senior manager or shooter to โmake a font and size roughly like this,โ but the result is something that I'm not looking for.
You can't improve your design skills with typography you've learned this way.
The reason why the two fonts look different, and the correct answer is as follows.
๐ A) Because the x-height is different.
The larger the x-height (x-height or x-character height), the larger it looks, and the smaller it appears, the smaller it looks.
In other words, these fonts look relatively like that because they are closely related to ascenders (ascenders) rising upward and descenders (descenders) descending below.
๐A class that solves practical questions!
Familiar with infused education, we only value results, and this class focuses on the cause of the process.
โWell, roughly this is how you can do it.โ Rather โWhy would that happen?โWe ask fundamental questions about typography, starting with, and help you solve them in a practical way.
๐It also summarizes all practice-oriented theories.
As in the example above, you may have heard terms like x-height, ascender, and descender countless times. However, I didn't have a chance to think about the correlation between the concepts. This class will solve such problems in a practical way.
and typefacesOf course, Organize pages and grab a grid, a mix of English and Korean typography (commonly Mixing and squeezingcalled), Grouping and shedding paragraphs We will cover a number of key topics, etc.
I'll show you the many features of paragraph styles, how they differ from character styles, and how best to use both features.
๐Like an experienced class, you'll also learn advanced tips.
Also, during the interstellar adjustment function Difference between optical and metricWhat is it like, Break a wordI'll also tell you if you should or should not do it.
And sometimes When applied styles don't listen We'll also give you tips on how to appease Indesign.
I'm proud that this is a class where you can take your design skills to the next level.
2. We take a fundamental, systematic approach.
๐Is typography difficult?
There is a preconceived notion that typography is difficult. This isn't just your problem, but why?
๐It's not difficult if you learn the basics and history.
Typography comes down from ancient times more than you might think Principles and methodologies There are the same things.
If you understand those very principles step by step, concepts that have been difficult until now are framed like a puzzle Use it according to your own styleYou will be able to do it.
It happened in 1946 Maxville and Yanchholt's paragraph style debate, Why divide styles into paragraphs and letters Various stories, etc., are prepared.

๐Get my years of experience at once.
I am Konkuk University, SADI, Toronto Film School, Canada I lectured for a long time at various universities, and worked as a design practitioner and editor-in-chief.
Naturally, I was able to combine the theoretical basis with the know-how necessary for actual work, and I organized the class to the fullest with all my experiences.
It's not just a class that deals only with tools or simply conveys information, but it will be a design class that literally scratches itchy places or relieves muscle bundles that you didn't even know existed.
3. The tool leverages InDesign.
๐Indesign is not difficult.
It just has a lot of features. The same goes for Photoshop as a similar example. With so many features, designers use Photoshop to suit their field of activity.
While designers and photographers focus more on image retouching or color, illustrators focus more on brushes or tools.
[Something you want to show off proudly - the last example is collaborating with 'mykc']
๐ This class focuses on the typography features of InDesign.
No time is spent on image utilization or other functions. I will teach you how to use it for typography.
Designers preparing for PT, book design, and editorial designers will approach in-design differently.
A designer who is good at handling Hangul, the alphabet, and even the Latin alphabetIf you want to become, I'm sure this class will be the best class for you.
Nice to meet you!

๐Be frugal but not shabby, glamorous but not extravagant
For students about to graduate and current junior designers โSword Buddha, White BulchiโI will finish the last lesson with the quote
This is soon โFrugal but not shabby, glamorous but not extravagantโIt means, and I ask you to familiarize yourself with the typography approach.
[Article about Hangul contributed to the well-known British typography magazine Baseline (Baseline) (2007)]
๐Practice+ Indesign, and even a unique style!
If you just introduce the practice and tools, this class will definitely not be enough. Since typography is a work area where principles have been established, Your own approach and styleIt will help you create.
In other words, typography isn't about working with a hand or mouse Your unique ideaIt is completed with.
We'll show you domestic and international examples and help you master why you should do this and how you can complete typography with your own approach.
Assignments include typography and indesign,
It captures both.
๐We have prepared a total of 4 tasks to improve your skills.
All of them have a rule in InDesign that they can only be used when doing typography.
In addition to reviewing what you have learned in the course under strict rules, I will also give you a carefully organized assignment so that you can interpret it in your own style.
First tasktakes steps one by one. though The fourth taskAs you get closer to, the rules will be released, and you will be able to perform tasks freely.
These are tasks that will help you make your own decisions, and complete them so that you can learn how to approach them and how to complete them.
After taking classes and working together on assignments, your design skills will naturally improve LEVEL UPIt will be.
๐In order to level up your level, please focus on the class.
In order to do that, I hope that all students will take the time to listen step by step.
Instead of playing a class and listening to it while doing other work, While turning on InDesign and following along It is more effective if you work with an learning mind.
Rather than wanting to finish it all at once, I want you to create your own skills one by one according to your own pace.
Designers, take on the challenge!
I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't feel confident or lacking in typography on a daily basis.
It's better to think of this class as a practice room or playground for honing your skills.
We have prepared a cool typography and indesign class where you can ask questions to your heart's content and scratch itchy spots!
I'll see you in class:)
