Check out what classmates have to say!
📍 Have you ever had this kind of trouble?
I think it would be fun to work at a publishing house. I like books too. Can I join a publishing company even if I don't speak Korean? I think I should write well, and I think I should be good at foreign languages. You also need to know a lot of spelling, right? How should I write a letter of appeal? If you pick a new employee, do you pick one?
📍 I'm an editor in my 15th year
I have been working in a literary town since 2012 after going through a mind-walking tour with Cheonglim Publishing. From small publishers to large publishers, from planning books to literary books, I prepared classes based on my experiences. A to Z of the publication editing processI've summarized them all in a nutshell. Essential qualities for editors and information that can actually help you get a job at a publishing companyDon't miss it too!
📍 The class covers these topics
✔️ Increase your sense of understanding good content and manuscripts
✔️ Clean and clear How to write a project
✔️ Basics of calibration
✔️ Know-how to make a book you want to own and the secret of a best-selling book
✔️ How to communicate with writers, marketers, designers, and readers
Learn and experience in advance in a vivid way. You'll feel the gradual transformation from the reader's body to the editor's body. And you'll look at books in a different way than before.
📍 Living as a literature editor
The book <<>How to make a book of literature>, which was published in 2020, specifically covered how to edit poetry, novels, and writer's prose. In this class I want to show as many stories as possible that I couldn't write in a book and image material that I couldn't show in a book. By the way, the class covers both literary books and planning books.
📍 Editor's reading and writing
I opened my daily reading diary for 6 months as a book called <We sit side by side and read our own books>. What, how much, how do you read, what kind of writing do you focus onYour potential and stats as an editor will vary depending on. I think I can give some more realistic advice to people who read books every day and are worried about books.
📍 Use of YouTube channels and SNS
I've been constantly introducing my books and books I've read on social media. In January 2019, I started and run a YouTube channel called “Editor K”. Of course, there is a reason not only to make good books, but also to actively inform and communicate with readers. Prospective publishers often ask if social media is a must, and I included this throughout the class. I hope this section is especially helpful for those who are thinking about independent publishing or are preparing to start a publishing company.
📍 I recommend it to people like this
I recommend it to prospective publishers, creators who wish to publish independently, those who want to improve their writing skills, and readers who have a deep love for books.

Editor K
Hello, I'm Kang Yoon-jeong, the 15th year editor. Currently, I am the head of the domestic literature team in the literary town, and I am making various prose books such as Korean novels, poetry in the literary district, and various prose books.
I had a clear desire to work as a publishing editor since I was in college. However, there was no place to ask or learn exactly what editors do. There weren't many places that selected new editors. I joined Cheongrim Publishing in 2007 and learned editing work as an economic management book. I applied to the liberal arts team, but I was assigned to the economic management team. This is when you learn the practice of editing with books that are far from the books you usually read. At this time, I learned how to come across and create various planning books and analyze the market and target audience.
I moved to Mindwalk in 2009 and created books in the fields of humanities/arts/literature. I've created the first collection of prose by Kim Jung-hyuk < I'll do anything> and an anthology by Yeon Soo Kim <>The Moment We Sent >, and the books of simultaneous interpreter and essayist Yonehara Marie. It was a time when I was able to fully feel the essence of editing, which visually enriches books through collaboration with various illustrators and photographers.
I moved to a literary town in 2012, and until now I have been making a collection of domestic novels, prose books, and literary poetry. <Only Two Persons> by Kim Young-ha, Bae Su-ah's < Snake and Water>, Lee Seung-woo's <People Who Don't Know>, Poet Park Joon's <I ate for a few days after naming your name > and Oh Eun's I edited the poet Park Yeon-joon's prose book <Mowol Moil> and the poet Shim Bo-seon's first prose book <Is your landscape bright? > It's still fascinating to run with the artist as a running mate and to deeply understand and expand the world of his work.
In 2019, I opened the YouTube channel “Editor K”. Each month, in addition to carefully selecting and introducing new publications to look out for, it also contains videos about the process from manuscript to book and the people involved in the process.
While making books, I also wrote two of my own books. This is the first volume in Yuyu Publishing's “Editor's Study Book” series <How to make a literary book>, and my husband, who runs a book cafe, and I write a reading diary that I wrote every day for 6 months <We sit side by side and read our own books>. Reading, writing, and creating books, and producing videos related to them — a life inseparable from books continues today.
