Miwa Watanabe

Nice to meet you,Graphic designer Watanabe MiwaThat's it.

It's easy to understand that I'm a graphic designer, but I usually work mainly as an editorial designer who designs magazines and books. We not only design paper items such as company pamphlets, business cards, leaflets from children's magazines, travel magazines, etc., and entertainment leaflets for rakugo storytellers and concerts, etc., but we also make header images/thumbnail images for the web, landing page designs, logos, art production for plays, and goods design, etc.

Q. How did you start designing?

A. I've always loved reading books and drawing pictures since I was little.

Until then, I had been making things that “can only be completed within myself,” but after belonging to the drama club at university and working on advertising art, I learned about the fun of “making with people” and expressing “transmitted to the other party” through paper objects, so I entered the path of design.

Q. Why did you decide to offer online classes with CLASS101?

A. I started this course because I thought it would be useful for people who don't want to buy specialized software, but want to be able to make small promotional materials on their own, or those who like to make things but get lost in what they have made.

Of course, I want people to know the fun and fun of doing “designs that are transmitted to people” so that people can feel close to them, but since I like paper myself, I would be happy if they could also learn about what I express with “paper” and “the merits of paper itself.”

Q. What was the most important thing you kept in mind when planning the class? Who would you recommend this class to?

A. Being able to create products while learning step by step, andAlthough it is said that it is suitable for beginners, the process is solid and authenticI was careful to be able to tell you how to make it.

Those who want to know how to use Canva, and those who want to know how to design and structure that changes depending on who they want to communicate with. By creating a pure white space from scratch without using a template,Those who want to develop the ability to balance detailed layouts and create original designsIt is aimed at.

Q. What kind of experiences do you want the students to have through this class?

A. I would be happy if people could learn the most important thing about “designing” that I think through my work while making it.

Then, I want you to feel that it will be a wonderful design just by being aware of a few things. Once you know the tricks of paper design, you will surely be able to create images posted with text on SNS etc. the way you want!

Q. Please give a message to your classmates!

A. Please show me what you've created for each chapter! The designIt's also important to move your hands, make lots of different things, and have people look at themThat's it.

I would like to make a lot of these classes so that the people who showed me can feel their growth day by day. Even if the things to be produced (business cards, DMs, leaflets) are the same, I think that the content and design “I want to convey” is ten people ten colors, so I will also support them well by actually making them and telling me what problems or stumbling blocks they are having.
