Skills You’ll Learn
An online art course where you can learn digital acrylic painting! Which one is digital? analog?
Using colors that look digital even though they are analog ──
Digital-like precision──
If you master acrylic paint, you can enjoy digital-like quality illustrations with original pictures.
Out of these 2 images, 1 is a digital illustration. The other one is an analog illustration drawn with acrylic paintThat's it. Do you know which one is analog?
The correct answer is that the illustration on the right was drawn with acrylic paint! Was it a hit?
The online course where you can learn how to use acrylic paint for a digital look
“If you dilute acrylic paint with water, it will become uneven and you will not be able to create a beautiful gradation.”
“If you apply a thick coat, it tends to be a single color and flat, and the line drawing disappears... Hard to handle!!”
Have you ever thought that?
For those who want to try drawing with acrylic paint, but think that it seems difficult and somehow difficult to get their hands on. A class where you can learn how to master acrylic paint from scratch, from how to handle a brush to how to think about color, and how to apply uneven paint. That's it.
Beginners who have never touched acrylic paint can learn in a fun and easy-to-understand manner
The content you can learn is as follows.
1. How to use a brush, how to apply with less unevenness
Make color swatches and practice mixing and gradation.
2. Tips for using colors, such as how to think about color schemes and how to create a sense of unity
Don't worry if you don't have confidence in your sense of color. I will explain each point in an easy-to-understand manner.
3. Transfer → Undercoating → Main coating → One-piece painting flow until completion
Transfer the rough and experience painting until completion.
There's no problem if you don't do well at first. It's because things don't go well that makes me so happy when it's done. You'll notice yourself getting better with each practice!
Change acrylic paint from “difficult to handle” to “art material with a high degree of freedom”
Have you ever felt that acrylic paints are more difficult to handle than watercolors? One reason for this is that unlike watercolors, which dissolve in water even when they harden, acrylic paint has the characteristic that once it hardens, it can no longer be used.
If you've used paper palettes, you've probably experienced trouble with how easily paint dries.
In order to solve that problem, in this class, paper is spread on a wet sponge instead of a pallet, and a wet pallet is adopted. The amount of water is maintained over time, so you can make the required amount of paint all at once.
Furthermore, the type of paint combines both the matte ease of applying gouache and the high durability of acrylic, gouache acrylic plus,I have prepared it. The characteristic is that the paint is soft, so there is almost no need to dissolve in water, and it is easy to mix colors.
By using these art materials, it is easy for beginners to handle, and you will be able to express yourself with a high degree of freedom.
The value of the original picture that creators cherish is “the feeling that the characters actually exist right in front of you”
Hello, I'm Kazuchiko, an illustrator.
I'm good at drawing character illustrations with acrylic paint with digital precision. I like drawing beautiful, strong faces, and I draw while thinking that it would be nice if I could get the “feeling that the characters actually exist right in front of me” by drawing with analog art materials. This time, we have prepared a color rough for CLASS101. I will tell you about a wide range of coating elements, from how to apply skin and hair to transparent materials and the texture of clothes!
Let me help you know the fun of acrylic and be able to freely draw whatever you want to express. We look forward to meeting all of our students online!

[Creator Interview]
Q. How did you get into acrylic painting?
A. After I graduated from university, I drew digitally for a few years after I got a job at a company, but when I saw my college friend drawing analog pictures and attending art events, I was inspired and began drawing with analog art materials thinking, “I want to present my paintings too.”
Q. Why did you offer online classes with CLASS101?
A. I often received voices saying, “I tried it, but I couldn't draw as I expected,” or “I want to try it, but it seems difficult.” I myself had a slight sense of weakness as an art material that I wasn't very good at in the past, but when I drew a few sheets without thinking that acrylic paint suited my style, I gradually improved, and I was able to freely draw whatever I wanted to express. It was a lot of fun, and I would like to be able to share that feeling with everyone.
Q. What points did you put the most effort into when planning the class?
A. In the questionnaire for the course opening survey conducted beforehand, there were so many voices saying “I want to learn acrylic paint,” “I want to draw character illustrations,” “I'm worried about color schemes,” and “I want it to be for beginners,” and we put effort into making the curriculum meet everyone's requests. I will explain carefully in an easy-to-understand manner so that even those who are new to touching paint can feel safe!
Q. What kind of experience do you want the students to experience through this class?
A. I would be happy if people who are attracted to my paintings can think that acrylic paint is fun by telling them my own thoughts and how to deal with paint.
I think you'll get the feeling that the more you draw, the better you get!
Q. Please give a message to the students!
A. You may feel that “acrylic paint seems kind of difficult...”, but that's not the case. Have fun drawing by making your own favorite colors, painting them! It's okay if you can't do well at first. This is a class that tells you how to apply it, so “I have to apply it evenly and cleanly!” You may think, but I want you to enjoy interacting with paint first without feeling bothered. Since it's a video lecture, you can try it out as many times as you like, and you can proceed slowly at your own pace without being in a hurry. Please ask any questions you don't understand.
Let me help you understand the fun of acrylic and be able to freely draw what you want to express. We look forward to meeting all of our students online!
