How about starting a small, cute, and original textile embroidery?

Hello! My name is Suzu, an embroidery artist.

We are researching combinations of small and cute embroidery motifs that are as easy as possible.

They are involved in textile embroidery, and even if you look at just one simple motif, identify the characteristics of each, and embroider them side by side, a work with a unique sense of rhythm is born. We are working with the hope that they will be a hint for a “free, creative and rich life” by proposing unique items made with our own embroidery fabrics that are not sold anywhere.

This class was designed with that in mind. The basics are important in everything, and there's always a trick! I will tell you tips on how to finish things beautifully in the video that didn't work just by watching the book.

Master everything from basic stitching to three-dimensional threading!

This class starts with an introduction and basics, and you will be able to embroider textiles. Also, in class, I will tell you how to clean the invisible back side, starting with how to get rid of the thread that starts and ends stabbing without a ball stopper. By paying attention to things you can't see, strangely enough, even the surface becomes beautiful. You can learn the skills and expressiveness cultivated through repetitive practice such as “embroider fruits with different designs on branches embroidered with the same stitch to express several types of motifs.” In addition to framing works using techniques you have learned, you will be able to make small cloth items by copying designs according to the pattern, and you will also be able to embroider patterns on ready-made products.

Let's make an original textile embroidery fabric and use it for a wide range of handmade accessories!

Learn 9 types of stitches and embroider 12 design motifs. You will be able to lay out the motif with your favorite image, copy the pattern onto the fabric, and make a hand-embroidered fabric. If you like handmade things, you can use that fabric to make original accessories for yourself, for your children, gifts, etc., and expand the range of handmade items!

Born in Fukuoka. I majored in textiles at the University of the Arts London courses.

I was fascinated by English embroidery while attending school, so I studied under a lecturer from the Royal School of Embroidery. After returning to Japan, after working as a stylist at a major costume company, he launched “TheribBonknot” in 2021 and began working as an embroidery artist.

Q. What kind of activities do teachers usually do? Please introduce yourself briefly!

I am researching the creation of small embroidery motifs by drawing pictures centered on familiar plants. They challenge the possibilities of expressiveness, such as techniques that have never been done in SNS posts and boldly challenging new ways of doing things. Orders for embroidery works and kit sales are carried out irregularly.

Q. Please tell us about your experience and achievements so far! Please tell me about exhibitions, awards, etc.

I went to England to be involved in stage costumes, and I came across the appeal of “English embroidery” from the relationship between textile design and the world of haute couture that I met while attending school. After returning to Japan, I worked for a major costume company and it was an embroidery that had been sealed for many years, but I started posting familiar plant motifs that I found on a walk on the occasion of my stay home in 2020 on SNS and resumed embroidery.

Q. Why did you offer online classes with CLASS101?

There are many problems with embroidery in the voices we hear on SNS. What should I do? What should I start with? I realized that there are many people who worry alone. It will be an opportunity to learn detailed tips and points, and I would be happy if more people could enjoy the “ultimate time for themselves” and “a hobby they can get carried away with” called embroidery! That desire supported the opening of the course.

Q. What kind of experience do you want the students to have through this class?

Textile embroidery is the repetition of small motifs. For every stabbing, one stab at a time, “Should I have done this!” You will notice many small points of reflection on your own, and you will learn more tricks and methods that are easier to do with the following motifs. It's easy for you to feel that your skills are improving too!

Embroidery is the ultimate in steady stitches, one stitch at a time. It takes a lot of time, and the sense of accomplishment when a cute embroidery work is completed is exceptional! Improve your skills and share a rich time enjoying embroidery and handicrafts for yourself and your loved ones!
