To the useless and beautiful world of Sarazumun
We welcome you.

Focus on what I like

Time to create what I want.

Hallo This is Sarah from Sarazumun. Eight years since 2014 Sarazmun I have been running a handmade brand called. I have been working on various things such as mobiles, garlands, objects, knitted plants, and ornaments. No matter what I make, I try to put sincerity and love into it. That's because the Sarazmoon brand started out of love for my daughter. My daughter is my muse then and now. Sarazmon was created by adding my sense of love and dexterity as an art major.

In fact, I've been getting a lot of requests for classes. However, Sarazmoon does not specialize in knitting, and is not a brand that specializes in felt or other materials, so many times refused or hesitated. However, many people I want to learn my own way of working freely using various materialsHe told me. I thought maybe there's something that only I can tell you with a slightly different approach than other experts. So it seems like it won't be anywhere I really decided to plan a class that only collected “Sarazmoon-like” essences.

What do I want to make rather than techniques,

What you want to express is more important.

I don't like to rely on difficult techniques or look at designs that are given the right answers. If you focus on techniques and design, it's easy for the results to get boring and hard, as if they were stuck in a plate. Patterns and techniques that are important when creating results that need to be used practically, such as clothes and hats, are not very important when making knitted objects such as plants or flowers.

That's why I chose “Plants” as the theme for the class. Plants are rugged, and there's no such thing as symmetry. When making plants or flowers with knitting, there's no need to try to make them neat and perfect. I don't even need a design. I want to share the fun of making it whatever you want by stretching and reducing the shape as you like, and adding it like LEGO. Even the more mistakes you make, the more cool you get!

Various materials such as beads, wool, and wire

Learn how to use it.

In this class, you'll also learn how to use materials such as beads and wool. Even though it looks easy, I need some tips on how to fix the beads nicely on a knitted fabric. I'll also give you tips on making flowers using the needle felt technique and fixing wool to a knitted fabric. I'll also try using various materials, such as how to make a flower stem using wire (wire). The goal of this class is not to learn techniques to handle materials like I did, but to find my own method by using various materials. Not only that, but I also feel the joy of dealing with various materials. :-)

No matter what you make, the results will be amazing

I collected only the best ingredients.

I'm proud that I've gained so much experience when it comes to ingredients that I've hardly used in 8 years. It is no exaggeration to say that most of the profits from running Sarazmon were spent on purchasing materials.

Because of my perspective and experience, I carefully selected ingredients that would produce excellent results even if I was a little lacking in skills. In particular, in the case of threads, I have imported yarn of a suitable thickness that can be floated about the size of a large needle size 6, and in beautiful colors such as loopy mango (loopy mango) and wool and the gang (wool and the gang).

I selected wool from wool that is convenient to work with and has excellent color, and the beads are also composed of the most versatile and beautiful beads I have purchased and used from various suppliers. I really put years of trial and error and experience into this kit. Good ingredients inspire people who make them.

I made it for my loved ones

I'll give you a flower that won't wither.

There are many people who ask for flower work with special stories. As a gift for parents, flowers for pets that have crossed a rainbow bridge, as a “bouquet that won't wither” for a married friend, as a housewarming gift, I wonder if there's another gift that's as good as a gift for someone special than a flower I made myself.

In particular, I think the flowers you'll make with me are more beautiful because they don't pretend to be “real flowers.” My goal in making flowers isn't to make them “like the real thing.” Rather than focusing on realistic details, I try to focus on interpreting and expressing the beauty of the existence of flowers in my own way. I want everyone to experience making their own flowers while making a variety of flowers with me.

Let's use a spoonful of imagination. :-)

All of the plant objects I make have a spoonful of imagination added to them. They definitely look like plants, but if you look closely, they're all things that don't exist in this world. I like that “one spoon” magic. Together with me, I will learn how to properly and beautifully express such magic. Because the goal of this class is for everyone to create their own plants that are different from mine.

Other than that, this class is full of my own tips that are hard to find in traditional knitting or craft classes. It contains a variety of know-how, such as the process of holding the framework of the finished knitting plants and planting them in a pot (the process of constructing a structure), making a jersey yarn from a T-shirt that you no longer wear, and how to add fun details using paint, beads, wool, etc.

Paying attention to useless things

Trying to make it beautiful

Feel the comfort of your heart.

In fact, all of the works you'll create through this class are useless from a practical perspective. It's like the four tribes of life. However, there are people who give their heart to those tribes. They are people who put their heart into uselessness and want their beauty to reach others. When I come across such minds, I think this might be the essence of human existence. I smile because I can imagine how fortunate I am to have a heart to give even to useless things, and how big and warm that heart will be. I think that's the comfort and message that art and beautiful things give us.

Sometimes I get into meetings and question the purpose of the work, but in the end, 'There is someone here who devotes so much attention to the beauty of useless things. ' I'm making a commitment to work with all my heart to capture the message. Through this class, I would like to share the experience of sending a message with that heart. I spent the whole day thinking about “efficiency” between “things I have to do” such as studying, working, and raising children. From now on, let's work with me on inefficient, useless, and “fun to do” tasks.

I'm Ahn Shin Young, a mother of one child and two cats, and artist, who has been leading the handmade object brand “Sarazmoon” since 2014. Through Sarazmun, we are showcasing various works such as mobiles, knitted objects, knitted plants, and ornaments.

Personally, I like to find the best expression methods and materials while working. In particular, rather than following a given method, we have been working freely using technology and various materials. I want to share that the process of pursuing what you like and creating something new is a way to care for and love yourself.
