Class Summary
Do you have those moments in life when you are touched by stories? If you want to create compelling visual storytelling by yourself, here are what you need: a note of your life, techniques (color theory, anatomy, perspective, materials, etc.), reference and resources... but most importantly: a unique creating method of your own. In this class I’m gonna introduce various illustration techniques and tips, through which I will help you cultivate your method of creating. A series of unique narrative illustrations of your own is expected by the end of the class.
This Class Is For
This class is for those who already have some visual storytelling background, as well as those who are just about to start their illustration journey. As long as you love stories and wish to tell an appealing story, you are welcomed to join.
Class Takeaways
You will gain your own method of creating narrative illustrations after getting familiar with several necessary techniques (color theory, anatomy, perspective, both digital and manual art, etc.). Assignments include light and color thumbnails, character sketches, storytelling sketches and a complete narrative illustration/illustrations.

Huahua Zhu is an illustrator and comic artist based in New York.
She graduated as an honored student from Rhode Island School of Design (illustration major) in 2021. She was a finalist of Zankel Scholarship in 2020, and won the golden award in CACC (China Animation & Comic Competition Golden Dragon Award) in 2020.
Her clients include Peow, Goinvo, Supercell, NetEase Games, Lilith Games, Beijing Arts and Photography Publishing House.
