Skills You’ll Learn
Many people at the venue,
Are you curious about what part of classical music makes you happy?
Hello, I'm Aurore, a classical music curator. I am working to introduce and explain classical music. Have you ever had a vague sense of classical music? Or did you feel that it was difficult to listen to or listen to the venue? Having majored in piano, I thought for a long time about what classical music is and why it feels difficult.
Why does classical music seem so difficult?
This is because “the way of appreciation is different.”
Western classical music and Oriental music have different ways of listening. I don't know that there are different ways to appreciate it, so it feels difficult. If you don't look at the manual when you buy a new machine, it takes a long time to get used to the machine and you don't fully understand the machine's functions.
There is also a manual for classical music. It's difficult to face something you haven't encountered in Eastern culture without a manual. Therefore, in this class, we will talk about a systematic “listening method” corresponding to the manual in an easy and fun way as a story. Let me tell you about the secrets of listening to classical music.

Helping you take on your challenges
Here is an introduction to Aurorman's weapon.
1) Appreciation notes
Before and after the class, I will write your own precious impressions in an appreciation note. Most people are perplexed when they ask me to write an appreciation note, but I know how to do that, and I'll give you a bunch of words and sentences at the beginning. After listening to the class, just pick a sentence you feel from the music!
▶ Share your auror appreciation
Also, I'll share my thoughts with you. If you tell the community about the notes, I will share your thoughts and comment on them.:) I will share my impressions with many people and become each other's classical music friends.
2) Playlist
When listening to classical music, you may be wondering what kind of music to listen to first. That's why I curate my own YouTube videos of songs that are great to listen to in each chapter for my classmates. It's easy to listen to the music you've learned again, and you can find the right music, so it's two birds with one stone! Color your everyday life with beautiful classical music.
This class will focus on the following three topics.
To understand classical music, a short behind-the-scenes story is not enough.
- In this class, we will understand the overall context of classical music and tell various interesting stories about what music has looked like over time and through its vast history.
Get close to the composers by examining their thoughts and lives.
- You'll learn about the lives, thoughts, and values of leading composers in classical music. You don't have to know the composer to enjoy music. However, if you understand and empathize with the circumstances and thoughts of the people at the time about why the composer made this song, just as if you understand and empathize with the story of the person who made the item, you will feel much more affectionate with the music.
Classical music is music that you listen to while anticipating and analyzing how the music is going.
- So I'm going to take a quick look at the ingredients to see how the music is made. As you learn the framework and materials from which the music is made, classical music that was only vague will take shape in your head. This makes classical music feel much easier, and you can grasp songs you don't know to a certain extent. When we eat delicious food, if we know the original taste of the ingredients, we can anticipate in advance what it will taste like and notice changes in taste depending on how the ingredients are cooked.
There's still more to prepare.
The most important thing is “What kind of music do you listen to?” Right?
Discover songs selected by the curator.
All of the music we will encounter in class consists of songs that are often played at concerts, music that you are already familiar with, or that are indispensable in the history of Western music. Even if you are stubborn in class, you will be able to meet many songs you are familiar with at future concerts.
Fill in the parts you're curious about, too. Tips to identify the composer of a song you don't know! Let me tell you some of the things I was curious about from the perspective of people who play music, what kind of music they listen to. Also included is a guide to experiencing music in real life. Don't miss the [BONUS] course, which has notes about going to the venue to learning a musical instrument.
Art contains our lives, and we are inspired by music. Your attitude of appreciating the value of art makes life rich and colorful. Learn everything from the beginning of listening to classical music to going to a concert hall and learning an instrument in this class. Just like I did, I hope your world will expand after understanding music.
Let's get started now?
Sit down, I'll take you to a great place.
