Photographing children is considered quite difficult when it comes to subjects.

A full range of content from basics to practice was packed into this class from one of the few kids' photographers in Japan. The creators also had experience as school teachers, so the content of the classes was carefully structured in an easy-to-understand manner and conveyed to others.

“I have a sleeping camera at home, but I don't really know how to use it”

The content will surely be useful to those who have even the slightest concerns about cameras and photography, such as “I want to keep a record of my child's growth with wonderful photos, so I want skills that have been leveled up”, so let's take wonderful photos of our daily lives.

[Creator Interview]

Q. What kind of activities do you usually do? Please introduce yourself briefly!

While working for a photography company, I am working as a photographer. They are mainly good at child photos and family photos, and on Instagram, the hashtag #子どもの日常をもっと写真に has been used since 2019 to spread the value of capturing casual everyday life of children in photographs (380,000 posts as of 2022/12). From my experience as a school teacher, I not only take pictures, but I also teach photography.

Q. How did you get into photography?

It all started when I bought a small single-lens reflex camera when I wasn't able to take beautiful photos with my smartphone yet. As I took out my camera and took pictures when I went on trips, which was my hobby, I became more and more addicted to the appeal of photography. While shooting in various genres, such as portraits, weddings, object photography, and landscapes, I arrived at themes such as children and families.

Originally, I chose school teachers as jobs that influence children, but as I worked as a middle school and high school social teacher, I thought, “Wouldn't photography, which I'm good at, have a positive impact on the world?” I began to think that, and I decided to pursue the path of being a photographer.

Q. What points did you put the most effort into planning your classes?

“I want to deliver the details carefully and in detail to Yarukarato!” From that thought, this time we created an opportunity for you to learn consistently, from basics to practice. We are conscious of content that is as careful and easy to understand as possible so that even those who are new to cameras can have a fulfilling camera life. Also, I incorporated what I am usually aware of into the course content as much as possible. There's quite a bit of volume, but I think everyone will enjoy it. It is recommended not only for those who like taking pictures and want to take pictures of their own children or their relatives' children, but also for those who want to make photography their job in the future.

Q. What kind of experience do you want the students to have through this class?

Of course, for those who want to start taking pictures now, for those who have been difficult and haven't been able to shoot well until now, or for those who haven't taken pictures for a long time and their camera is asleep, “Taking pictures is fun!” I would be happy if you could give me an opportunity to think that. Through this class, everyone who took it said “I like it!” I think it would be nice if I could take as many photos as possible that look like that.

Q. Please give a word to the students!

Let's enjoy taking pictures together! I would be happy if you could look at the themes you are interested in over and over again and take more wonderful photos.
