This is Ote Kwon, an expert in muscle restoration.

I majored in physical education, and I took chiropractic classes at university to “correct my spine with my hands.” I fell in love with the appeal of directly aligning bones that were shaped to match that meaning, so I chose it as my major subject and got my own job as a massage therapist now called “muscle restoration.” After 6 years of being recognized and working in Korea, I was offered by foreign buyers to go abroad to work as a massage therapist, and I left for Calgary, Canada 15 years ago because I wanted to get my skills recognized by people around the world.

As the manager of Calgary's first Korean massage clinic center, I did my best to compete for half a year, and as a result, Breithardt 'Hitman', a world-famous WWE US professional wrestling champion, came to me. Someone who always insisted on being a male massage therapist chose me after receiving treatment from me. When I was in elementary school, I watched TV and played with technology, and I was honored to become his dedicated massage therapist.

As such, I obtained a license from the Department of Massage Therapists at the University of Calgary, registered as an official Alberta massage therapist, and received recognition for my skills from more clients, and had a truly successful life abroad. In addition, I managed foreigners with various physical conditions, such as Bret Hart and football players. Currently, I have been running an Oat Wellness massage therapist shop in Cheongdam-dong for over 10 years, and many professional athletes and celebrities are living a happy life by taking responsibility for the beauty and muscle health of people with muscle problems other than celebrities.

Q. How did the expression “muscle restoration” come about?

When I came back to Korea 10 years ago, every customer who came at that time was managed by many places, and it seems that Director Kwon's technology was unique, as if it were the first time they had received it. There were so many people who said that and asked what kind of massage is this! Why did I instantly think, “This is a massage that corrects muscles and 'restores muscles'!” The saying went up. When I think about it carefully, the name “restoration muscle” came into being because we lived without thinking that pain was uncomfortable, and when we got older, we never thought that taking care of our muscles would make our spine healthy, so when overworked muscles were built up, I relaxed deep muscles to correct the original body shape.

Q. When do you enjoy working the most?

Of course, muscle problems have many effects on our bodies that we hadn't even thought of, but it's amazing that they found me because of that discomfort, and I solved the problem, and made my body feel comfortable! I was able to sleep well! I was proud when I heard that, and their whole family came, learned about the importance of muscle health, and even regained their beauty, which changed their appearance. I feel so proud and happy when you change your mind about muscle health!

Q. When do you think your classmates will find it rewarding?

I think Haute Kwon will be very proud when she attends Haute Kwon's wedding care class, exudes a perfect dress fit, and walks into the venue with what the bridesmaids wanted, hoped, and dreamed of. Cheers to the prospective bridal classmates!
