In this class, I will explain my personal process when creating characters for comics. We will go over all the steps I follow before starting a comic project: the concept, review of the drawing fundamentals, design of the main character, as well as some notes on how I approach the design of secondary characters. I will also give you some tips based on my professional experience that could help you create engaging comic characters.

Class Requirements

In this class, Procreate Ver.5.2.9 will be used, but you can use different version or different digital drawing tools.
For more information on Procreate, please visit here.
Students will have to purchase the digital drawing tools. It is not included in the course package.

Hi! I’m Maribel and I’m a spanish professional comic artist and full-time freelance illustrator. I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember. During the past few years, I’ve work for comic publishers around Europe such as Le Lombard, Webtoon Factory and Glénat. I’m also an anatomy teacher and will be your instructor during this course. In this course, I’ll share with you my experience in the comic field and will try to help you with the character design for your comics.
