Class Summary

In this course, I’ll be teaching you all the fundamental aspects of character design. But you won’t have to worry about hard-to-understand and overcomplicated concepts because I’ll be breaking down each step in illustrating down to detail in a way that’s simple, easy to digest, and of course–enjoyable.
So together, we’ll learn to work in tune with our “intuitions” and “gut feelings” while discovering which art process works best for you and the art you want to create.
From planning to sketching, I’ll be sharing all of my favorite tips and tricks on how to approach character design in a unique and impactful way.

Hi! My name is Jeda Abenina, but you can call me Pixie, and I’m the Filipino artist behind Sleepy Pixie Art. You may know me or have come across my posts from my Instagram or Twitter! Though I’d consider myself to be relevantly more active on the latter platform, I generally enjoy sharing my art on social media. In fact, I work as a freelance digital illustrator online, and I’ve accomplished over 200 commissions since I first started my brand. I’ve been an artist for most of my life, a self-taught digital illustrator and creator. Though I did not actively choose to pursue an educational path in line with the arts, I can say that my interest in them did not diminish. I’ve explored a variety of mediums throughout the years, but ultimately, I fell in love with digital art, and I hope you do too! I’m so excited to meet all of you, and I really think we’ll all have a wonderful and impactful journey together in this class.
