About the class

15 minutes of concentration, <Will You Merrime> Mind C artist

I'll let you know step by step!

Hallo Mind C is serializing <Will You Merrime> on Naver Webtoons.

As those of you who watch my webtoons know, my concentration is only 15 minutes. Therefore, all video lectures are within 15 minutes (having 2 19 minutes is a trap)! In line with the eye level of those new to the iPad, I designed a course so that I could eliminate difficult features as much as possible and unravel my story as a webtoon with only simple functions.

I want to convey through my lectures that I can freely express my thoughts and everyday life without drawing the same way or including complicated descriptions. I'll show you the easiest way to draw a webtoon!

Course effect

  • You'll learn the basic concepts you need when you start digital drawing.
  • You can draw your own character in two ways.
  • I can capture emotions and movements in my characters and portray them vividly.
  • By studying character movements and spaces, you can learn how to use backgrounds and props needed to create situations.
  • You can draw comics using photographs and enhance their completeness by using speech bubbles.
  • You can draw 4 shots of your own everyday life.

Recommended target

  • People who don't know anything about digital drawing or iPad drawing but want to try drawing
  • People who usually like webtoons and want to draw their own
  • Those who want to create their own characters and use them as memes or emoticons
  • Those who want to draw an Instagram cartoon depicting everyday life
  • Those who are curious about the know-how of popular webtoon writer Mind C

4 reasons why this class is special

① You can create your own character and capture emotion and vitality!

Did you know that the character “Will” that appears in <Will You Merrimi> was inspired by me, right?

I'll tell you my own know-how about two ways to create your own unique character that will appear in webtoons: “a character created by extracting your own facial features” and “a character created after writing a hashtag with 3 keywords that express yourself”!

If you're trying to draw something that seems easy, I'll show you how to express difficult facial expressions by intensity of emotion. Once you've gotten used to drawing facial expressions to a certain extent, try capturing life in your own character by practicing the appropriate method of directing the same style!

② You can draw “memos,” “emoticons,” and “one-cut everyday cartoons”!

As you practice emotive character movements and directing techniques, you can naturally create your own memes and emoticons. In case you don't know, my meme made in this way might become a famous meme on the internet or be sold as an emoji!

I'll also share some simple details and additional tips on props that can make a picture look more attractive! If you draw pictures of food and props that you encounter on a daily basis, you can create a much more vibrant sense of realism. After mastering this, I'll be able to capture my everyday life in a one-cut-cartoon!

③ You can complete a 4-frame lifestyle cartoon that captures everyday life!

I'm actually going to join you in this chapter where I go through all the processes I go through when drawing webtoons (story work) → (sketch work) → (pen touch work) → (color work) → (dialogue work). Once you've experienced the process of searching for materials in your daily life and completing a 4-cut webtoon, you're ready to become a webtoonist!

Unlike illustrations, in webtoons with stories, the location of the speech bubbles that guide the flow of the story is also very important. I'll tell you all about the layout of speech bubbles that take into account the reader's point of view and post-production know-how for readability!

④ We offer 8 background designs and 6 car designs!

(8 background designs: cafe, living room, bed, picnic, office, beach, pub, park)

It's great to practice movements in various spaces to express your thoughts and everyday life! In this chapter, I'll teach you how to easily create a sitting or lying position because I created my own Mind C background/prop design where you can practice various postures and situations to your heart's content.

(6 types of car designs — 2 front, half side, side, driver's seat, taxi)

If it's difficult to draw a background, upload a picture you took yourself as a background and draw just the characters! Don't worry if you don't have the right background to use for the exercises. I made 6 kinds of car backgrounds that you can use as backgrounds yourself! Using a car pattern, imagine what happened in the car recently and express it in one shot.

Curriculum

Creator

Hallo This is Mind C, a webcomic artist who draws <Will You Merrime> on Naver Webtoons.

I've been serializing everyday comics featuring characters since 2014 until now, and the question I've heard the most is “How do you make characters?” and “How do I become a webtoonist?” It was. Normally, I've given special lectures and classes for aspiring webtoons, but recently I've often met people who want to draw webtoons as a hobby, and I've been thinking about “how to make webtoons that people who are new to digital drawing can draw.”

And at the end of that thought, “iPad drawing that makes even a beginner a webtoonist” was born! I tried to explain in a very simple way that people who have never drawn a picture or worked on a drawing program can create their own characters and draw on what they have experienced in their daily lives in webtoons. If you follow me step by step, an everyday comic about my story will be created before you know it!
