I reduced the importance of literacy while teaching children in elementary school for 20 years. While studying the differences between children who are good at studying and children who can't, I learned that literacy is a key cause. Children with poor literacy usually lack comprehension, concentration, memory, vocabulary, language skills, and thinking skillsI did. So even when I took a class, I couldn't understand, I couldn't focus, I couldn't remember, I couldn't express, and I couldn't think. I was in a situation where I could never study well. On the other hand, children with excellent literacy skills generally had excellent comprehension, concentration, memory, vocabulary, language skills, and thinking skills. So I understood the teacher and knew how to think and express myself.

Literacy, which is the ability to read and understand text, contains a wide variety of abilities. Comprehension, concentration, memory, vocabulary, language skills, and even thinking skills. All of these abilities are factors that make up literacy. This is because literacy is about concentrating on reading, remembering, and understanding vocabulary and language to think for yourself. Children who are highly literate are excellent at all of these abilities overall. Because in the process of cultivating literacy, all of these abilities were developed togetherIt is. Conversely, children with poor literacy have never developed all of these abilities, so they are generally lacking.

It's difficult to develop all of these abilities separately. It's going to take a lot of effort, a lot of time, and a lot of money. Now focus on one thing, just one. It's literacy. If you focus on literacy, If you improve literacy, you will develop all of these elements at once. Then all those problems will be solved one by one.

If you're worried about your child's grades, focus on literacy first.

❶ Literacy stories told by top elementary literacy experts

As literacy received a lot of attention from the public, many education professionals wrote books and created lectures on the topic of literacy. However, there aren't many cases where literacy has been studied since the beginning. Therefore, the content did not go beyond the level of incorporating the keyword literacy into the content of general elementary education, Korean language education, and reading education.

On the other hand, I have recognized the importance of literacy in elementary school for almost 20 years and have been continuously researching it. During that period, I continued my theoretical research and classroom practice. People who read my books agree that it's enough to read Kong Na-mool-sam's books when it comes to literacy. The essence of that expertise was captured in this course. With all the effort that has been built up I'll tell you a story I haven't heard in any book or lecture.
