Q. What's the difference between text and lyrics?

The lyrics are also written, but they're not something we usually read. The lyrics are written by singers, and they are written by people with their own ears. Writing we read with our own eyes and writing with our mouths and hearing with our ears are different approaches. Q. How do I find the material for the lyrics?

You can compare life to a small event. I have a habit of thinking about a lot of things that way. There are big stories I want to talk about, and when they're too vague, I hear a very small everyday parable and people say, “Ah, that's it!” They immediately understood and sympathized with it. It's just like that. Almost everything in the world has similarities between life and love.

Q. You've written over 400 lyrics, what's the secret to being prolific?

I don't know the secret to being prolific, but I think it's because of my personal habits and tendencies. I'm trying to put myself in someone's situation or in that person's position. I need to be able to be this person and be that person, but so many lyrics can come out. Rather than judging right and wrong, it's more important to put yourself in that person's shoes without all that is right and wrong.

Q. If there's one last thing you want to say, please let me know.

The parts I wanted to do my best to tell you were processes such as swans floating gracefully and moving their footsteps under the surface. There will definitely be a day when every moment you have lived will one day become material and come to mind. I think it would be a good idea to develop a habit of collecting “now, this moment” rather than after passing through emotions, even now. This is because living like that is a bit emotionally exhausting, but it's a great training to become a lyricist.
