Hallo This is ZESSTYPE that draws letters.

Let's start with the basics of Hangul lettering with me.

Hallo type designer ZESSTYPE, This is Hyun Seung Jae.

I am engaged in logo type and title design activities with various companies and brands through Hangul lettering work, and as an independent typography designer, I am planning and developing typefaces for the brand.

-

Have you heard of the term Hangul lettering?

What is Hangul lettering in a nutshell The task of drawing lettersIt's.

If calligraphy shows text as an image through writing, Lettering shows text as an image through drawing. Typography is a term suitable for typesetting or editing dealing with letters, and it can be said that writing, designing, and expressing characters is lettering work.

-

I think everyone has had that experience at least once.

While working Because there is no typeface suitable for the design Have you ever had a difficult time? As a free typeface You can't differentiate, Every time I design It's a bit burdensome to buy a typefaceDidn't you do it?

Through this experience, I began to draw the letters I needed myself, and I continue to draw the letters even now. If you can draw the letters you want, you can use them in more places than you think. Various products and media content Title logotype designNot only that. If you expand the area brand designYou can expand it up to, and if you derive the characters Type designIt can be expanded to

You don't need too many letters, but why not draw your own?

-

New to lettering?

whatever Of course it's difficult at firstIt's.

We already have an aesthetic sense of Hangul. I naturally developed my perspective by looking at the many signs I saw along the way, the many design references online, and the letters like that. But when I just draw it, that's not the case. Something weird and awkward. It doesn't draw like I thought. This is because you can see the form, but you can't see the structure of the letters.

It's not that difficult if you know how to do it. You just need to learn step by step in order. You can't defeat the King from beginning to end. If you start with something simple and increase the number of elements that need to be dealt with one by one, you can easily solve complex characters. You can do as much as you want!

-

Step by step, let's start with the basics and go all the way!

What is a Hangul lettering class that captures impressions in letters Expressing various impressions, from the basics of character modelingand the application of it Graphic design, logo type implementation process, and typeface design for font production I'm dealing with it. It's not a class you can master if you just follow along. You have to think, work, learn step by step, and keep working.

In order to make this class useful to all of you, we have included a wide range of areas in the curriculum, from basics to practical work. Theory - Planning - Design - Modeling - Representation - Correction - Application - PracticeLet's learn all about lettering until. Shall we take a quick look?

  • Planning stageIn, topics and keywords are determined and refined through rough sketches.

  • Design phaseIn, the proportions, thickness, and space of the characters are determined according to the structure of the characters.

  • Molding stageIn, the shape of the stroke is adjusted to match the theme and the visual correction is carried out.

  • Expression stageIn, various visual expressions are added for a more clear communication.

Don't take it too hard. Like speaking with my own voice, writing a diary with my own words, I can draw everything from everyday language to corporate identity through the letters I draw.

What is more important than doing well is doing it consistentlyIt's. Just as a baby starts babbling, talking, and increasing vocabulary, it's not difficult if you start with something simple at first, understand the letters, and increase the shape and expression. Step by step. If the foundation work is poor, you won't be able to raise the building high, right? Firm from the basics Application is easier only if you start by building.

It's often said that it's about building skills. As the letters, notes, and work files you draw are piled up one by one, you can build your skills. I'm also constantly working and learning. We're trying to let you know more. Not only how to draw letters I'll show you how to grow and survive as a designer by connecting them to various tasks that can be done through Hangul lettering!

Hoping to see you again in the field...

Further, lettering work How to organize a portfolioBy archiving the department's work How to build a narrative of work, and the worker's Branding that shows expertiseet Storytelling for differentiation I would like to help you grow and survive as a designer. As with all learning, the only thing you can do in a short period of time is experience or experience. If you work continuously over the long term, you can fully turn that experience into a career.

I can do it!

I hope to see you again in the field one day, and I look forward to seeing you again.

The delicacy drawn by hand is difficult to express digitally all at once, no matter how much you get used to it. Drafting letters is a particularly delicate task. Curves such as bends, protrusions, and bends of Hangul characters can also be drawn by hand several times and then transferred digitally, which is much more efficient.

The high-grade hardcover version is made of hardcover binding. The cover uses buckrum paper, and post-processing is pressurized to create an even more luxurious feel.

The inventory structure consists of original paper, a section where you can take simple notes, and 5 types of grid pages. This is a total of 240 pages. The window grid has 178 pages, and each grid has 12 pages. You can obtain various sketch results with regular grid, circular grid, triangular grid, horizontal line grid, and vertical grid pages.
