노동력으로 일군 월급만으로는 절대로 노후를 보장 받을 수 없을뿐더러, 젊은 인생을 이상적으로 살지 못하고 꿈조차도 꾸지 못할 것이라는 것을 체감하고 있습니다. 나의 돈이 일하면서 은행 이자보다 더 높은 수익을 벌어다 줄 것은 투자 밖에 없다고 생각하였습니다. 투자라고 하면 종류도 여러가지가 있지만. 부동산의 경우는 너무나도 큰 목돈이 들고, 원할 때 수익을 실현할 수 없다는 단점이 존재했었고, 장사나 다른 사업을 운영한다고 하기에는 배워야 할 지식도 경험도 많이 부족했기에 어려움을 느꼈습니다. 그래서 저는 주식에 관심을 가지고 있었습니다. 자신이 어떤 원칙을 만들었냐에 따라서 개인적인 성과는 천차만별이 되고, 주식 차트를 무작위로 보면서 가능성이 있는 주식들을 포착하여 아주 작은 돈을 투자해서 꽤 가능성이 있는 수익률을 기록했었습니다. 내가 2만원을 번 것이라고 생각하면 아주 작지만. 두달만에 20만원을 투자해서 2만원을 벌었다고 생각하면 터무니 없어 보이지만, 그것은 수익률로 보면 곧 2,000만원을 투자해서 200만원을 버는 것과 같은 이치라는 것을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 막연하지만 그렇게 생각했습니다. 저는 또한 '사무자동화'에 관심이 많았습니다. 한국 정서상 일의 꾀를 부리려고 하는 것을 부정적으로 생각합니다. 하지만 저는 완전히 반대된 생각이었습니다. 일은 머리를 써서 단순하게 만들 수 있다면 효율이 올라가는 것 입니다. 내 일을 자동이나 반자동적으로 할 수 있다면 다른 일에 더 시간을 쏟을 수 있는 것 입니다. 사실 그전에 일을 빨리 끝내고 싶은 꾀가 동기를 부여했지만 말입니다.
