That's right, in terms of helping build bonds. But jokes are different from dialects in that they are related to the ability to speak well and reflect the unconscious mind of social deviation. The interesting thing is that they try to be funny by using dialect in gag programs. So is the dialect itself considered deviant (from the perspective of Seoulites)?
