This curriculum is designed mainly for beginners to find their own basic drawing skills, simple illustrations, and animation production methods and individuality to express their own “story.”

A painter who loves stories more than skill

Hallo I am

<Dad doesn't know >

<It wasn't until I became a mother that I became a daughter >

I'm Sohyo, an artist who wrote and drew two books:)

Q1. The reason for opening this class

I am “I want to draw a warm picture.” It's not “I want to draw a picture that fits a warm story.” I draw pictures based on this idea.

As I focused my thoughts on the story, I broadened my horizons when drawing. As a result, the direction of the painting I wanted and the color and composition I had to use changed clearly and specifically, and I came up with my own formula and style of painting.

I opened the class with the desire to draw unique and attractive paintings by establishing basic painting skills and my own painting values through classes created based on my experience.

Q2. What you can learn in this class

  1. Ability to complete your own emotional illustrations through light, warmth, and story drawing formulas
  2. Ability to express characters and backgrounds through simple pictures
  3. Ability to express in various fields through illustration, manga, and animation production
  4. Basic tool usage skills

So let's see what we can learn in earnest?

1. What kind of program does it use?

The main program used in the class is 'Clip Studio'This is because it has great advantages in using various materials and working on animations.

In fact, it doesn't really matter if you're drawing in Photoshop, a Saitul iPad, or a desktop. However, color correction and editing Photoshop I'm going to use it

2. What is the process for drawing a picture?

If you look at the blank screen, you'll be wondering what to draw! Don't worry if you can do well. While working on assignments with me Create pictures and colors that are easy to draw in proportion to the person and backgroundI'll do it! The next step is to go through the process of completing an illustration in earnest, and then a manga and simple animation curriculum is also prepared, so I hope you can take the steps slowly and express your story in any field.

I'll teach you everything from how to express a character's facial expressions, how to give the charm of lines, my own color know-how, the use of light and shadow, frequently used compositions and backgrounds, etc.

3. background? A person? A sense of color? I'm going to put it simply

A painting is an advisory from the person who drew it, right? From expressing characters from a background rather than a simple character expression, and using lines to selecting colors Everything in the pictureI think this is the picture. In my class, I will study and learn about paintings that can be easily expressed, which will be a great help in finding my own paintings.

4. Not for drawing well, but for increasing expressiveness

If you don't have a solid foundation, it will collapse greatly later, right? If you don't have a basic sense of perspective and proportion in your head, your expressive ability will be limited, and the number of pictures you can draw will be limited. Learning the ratio of perspective and human body is also for drawing well, but all of you Developing the ability to express stories with picturesIt would be nice to think of it as!

5. Let's complete it with the 3 formula of light, warmth, and story

In order to show individuality more firmly, you need your own picture formulaI'll do it.

Light, warmth, and story are the formulas I use to complete my paintings.

The story is the part that determines the overall mood of the painting with elements that make the viewer imagine what the situation might be like, such as the facial expressions and background of the characters in the painting. Warmth is an element that adds sensibility to the story, and it is a stage of coloring mainly colors and shadows. Finally, light is an element that adds completeness to the finished picture, and the free Photoshop plug-in Nik Collection will give you various effects and various lighting that matches the picture!

All of the pictures in the video above Light, warmth, and the elements of storyThese are pictures I drew while thinking about

6. From the finished illustration to a simple manga and animation!

Until now, if you've learned the basic skills to express things by focusing on stories rather than focusing on pictures, this time you've completed them using the skills you've learned Illustrations as simple cartoons and animations I'll try to solve it!

A single picture is fascinating enough, but isn't it really fascinating to be able to incorporate your story into a variety of fields?

7. A work is not just about skills, but about capturing one's own sensibility and values

The reason I wrote this post at the end of the introduction is that it is good to learn painting skills in online classes where you invest your precious time and money, but in addition, I wrote it down because I hope it will be of great help in establishing my own values about painting.

More than just a person who draws well, someone who clearly knows what to draw, rather than what to draw A person who knows what kind of sensibility and values they haveI hope it will be a class that will help you find this or that:)

Let's draw a picture of all of you with your own sensibility and values

SOHYO

Hello, I'm Sohyo drawing a story.

I have published 2 books including <Dad Doesn't Know >, “I Became a Daughter When I Became a Mom”, etc., and I serialized < I'm Running for the Naver Webtoon Best Challenge.

Currently, I'm drawing animations and illustrations on YouTube and social media

When I was a kid, my dream was to be a firefighter. I believed that saving people was a wonderful and rewarding thing to do. However, as an adult, I realized that what I can do well is painting, and that I can fully move and inspire people with pictures and stories, so I decided to become a painter.

Unlike when I was just interested in drawing and only pursuing skills, now I work while thinking deeply about what to draw, why I should draw this, what kind of person I am, and what I want. I think painting is an element and a means of expressing my story, and I think the important essence is “I” myself.

As the old saying goes, “I see as much as I know.” There's a saying that, right? I didn't agree with this statement. I thought it would make sense to slow down if I worked hard just like a game. It's not wrong, but growing up isn't a form of going straight up diagonally, but like a staircase, there's no progress in a certain section, you go through a slump, and at some point, when you gain enlightenment, you go up one step and grow.

The reason I'm building this up is because I really love painting, and it's an online class without a face, but I don't want to just pass on skills. I believe that if you explore and grow yourself through your own painting values, it will be helpful not only for painting, but for everything you do.

Ah, that was too much talk, so I'll finish by writing down one of my mottos.

“Let's finish it first and do well next time”
