Class introduction

Earth science dealing with climate, volcanoes, land, and space is also called introductory science. It means it's the perfect field to enter the world of science. Science won't be difficult anymore with interesting and fun science storytelling, from climate change, which is the hottest issue these days, the Earth we live on, the history of the universe, and the lives of stars. We invite you to the world of Earth Science!

Course effect

  • You can learn about Earth science courses and scientific knowledge and relate them to your life.
  • You can learn about the most exciting fields of Earth science: climate change, plate structure theory, and the Big Bang theory.
  • In addition to elementary and secondary science courses, you can learn all of the high school geosciences, fluid geosciences, solid state geosciences, and astronomy.

Recommended target

  • Elementary school students (upper grades) and middle school students who want to improve their science grades
  • High school students who need to study in advance because integrated high school science is difficult
  • People who want to gain basic knowledge about Earth system science such as meteorology, climatology, geology, and astronomy

Pre-course notes

[Linked courses]

  • Climate Change: Grades 3-4 - Weather
  • Big Bang: Grades 5 to 6 - Solar System and Space
  • Earthquakes and Volcanoes: Grades 3-5 - Rocks and Volcanoes

What makes this class special

The easiest way to learn science!

Dr. Lee Jiyu's science storytelling

I am the teacher of “Auntie Lee Jiyu,” a science education expert who writes 50 science books and gives science lectures to the public more than 100 times a year. My science lectures are popular because of my own fun storytelling techniques. Through concise and accurate explanations of scientific concepts, appropriate analogies to aid understanding, and rich examples, it encourages students to understand context rather than memorize. Come join me in the exciting world of science!

I graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Earth Science Education, studied at the same school's Graduate School of Astronomy, and received a master's degree from Gongju University Graduate School of Science Education. She is excited to write and draw so that children and young people can feel the “joy of discovery” while reading science books. I often find good books and translate them into Korean. “A Science Story Told by Auntie Shooting Star” series, “Lee Jiyu's Easy Science” series, “The First Time I Read the History of the Universe,” “My Name Is Paris Hell,” “My First Reading of Earth History,” “A Beetle's Wish,” “My Name Is Typhoon,” “The History of Breathing Things,” and “Penguins Are Actually Long Legs!” He wrote “The Teenager Who Knew the Big Bang,” “My Scientists,” “A Black Hole Somewhere Over There,” and “The Teenager Who Knows Climate Change,” and “The Strange Natural History Museum,” “Touch the Best Bone,” “The Day the Typhoon Came,” and “The Mars Project.”
