Hello,

I'm Kim Chang Hyung, who paints on paper with a delicate sensibility.

I like modern pictures drawn with the black ink that comes out of the pen and the delicacy that comes from the sharpness of the nib. I usually have a lot of misconceptions, but when I draw with the characteristics of a thin, delicate pen, I am more focused than ever before.

I would like all of you to spend time with me putting aside the complicated thoughts of everyday life through pen drawing and focusing on the detailed sensibility that comes out of every line!

While majoring in design, always ColorI had a lot of fears about. When I decided on the color and worked, it became unknowingly turbid and dark, so I was under a lot of stress about using colors. I like painting, but I was always worried about what kind of pictures to draw and what paintings have my own color. Then one day, I was sitting in my major room and scribbling on the discarded kraft paper in front of me, and the expressions of thin lines gathered together and overlapping came out very attractive. Because the lines are thin, the thoughts in my head are dense Flavors that fillThis is so much fun. After that, I became more interested in painting, and if I only had a white space Thoughts I want to fill inIt was full of people.

I think this is the reason why I fell in love with the unique charm of pen painting and haven't let go of pens until now.

Various lines and textures made with just one pen

After observing the texture and shape of the object, making a sketch, you'll start putting on a pen.

Let's learn how to use a pen depending on its thickness. I'll show you how to use lines based on the properties of man-made objects (metal, plastic, etc.) and natural objects (wood, stone, etc.). I'll let you know and express lines appropriate to the situation, such as simple and accurate lines using a ruler, and lines that can be solved naturally without using a ruler.

An antique sensibility created by overlapping sharp lines

I've done a lot of work to reexpress old buildings and antique old small accessories in my own style. Actually, there's no particular reason. When it comes to the reason, I'm more than digital Analog sensibilityIt's a person who likes.

If you look at the pen line from a distance, it's just a straight black line, but if you look closely, you can see a variety of things. The natural feeling of being bumpy, the feeling of being cut off because the ink didn't come out in the middle, and the feeling of smearing was revealed as it was. Taking advantage of that touch, I drew old buildings and antique props in my own colors, and I felt like I was reading a delightful book taken out of an old closet at my grandmother's house. From then on, I drew buildings and props with this kind of touch My own colorI wanted to capture it.

In this class, we'll start by drawing a candlestick, which is a relatively easy form. Then, as I draw forks and knives, I'm going to look for detailed elements little by little. Observe the antique feel that can be seen on the handles of forks and knives, and superimpose lines to express details.

The coin has a face shape, so it's a bit more difficult. I'm going to take the prototype of the coin and depict it by shading the shape of the face in it. In particular, the inside of the face is not a line standpointI'm going to use them to express the flow of facial contours.

Finally, I'll draw a keyring on the key and a bunch of threads. It seems a bit difficult and complicated, but if you focus on the shape, sketch step by step, and draw pen lines, you will get the overall outline.

In particular, I'll try the difficult task of describing the threads in the direction they flow from a bunch of threads.

Starting antique drawing

“In this genre, I should draw pen lines like this”, “These lines are too clunky?”

In the meantime, I've been drawing and ruining pictures of various concepts with a pen, and completed my works through a lot of trial and error. We will generously share these experiences and feelings with all of you, and go further The appeal of pen drawingI would like to share it with you.

Of course it won't be easy from the beginning. However, if you keep practicing and concentrating, it's not a picture you drew at some point My creationsI'm sure this will be made. I would like all of you to leave painting and continue to the end in various fields such as all the work and hobbies I love.

We all fight!

A discarded sheet of kraft paper, the beginning of pen drawing.

Hallo I'm Kim Chang Hyung, a pen drawing illustrator.

Since I majored in visual design, I was always afraid of color.

There were many reflections that when I used a color like that, it became turbid and dark without me knowing.

As a major, my sense of color was a huge stress for me.

One day, I sat in my major room and doodled with a loud pen on kraft paper that had been lost in my thoughts.

I was able to see that the lines of the pen are gathered and superimposed, and that more than enough color can be expressed without using color. Since then, my thoughts about painting have changed a lot.

I've heard a lot about freedom of expression, but I thought I wasn't focusing on the views of others who weren't free and not mine.

Now I can proudly say that I'm looking for my own color!

If you go deep into your favorite work and work hard with focus and attention, I think one day you'll become the best in that field.
