Course Summary

I first began working with stained glass while I was still a motion graphics designer. I wanted to understand how this traditional art form could be reinterpreted and used in modern design. I’ve always believed that the best way to learn is by doing!

I started by creating simple patterns for my pieces using things I love. I drew a lot of inspiration from video games and animation, breathing a modern sensibility into this ancient art form. This course is an introduction to everything you need to know to start creating stained glass pieces from scratch.

Hello! I’m Arjan, a stained glass artist from the Netherlands. I want to teach you this class because I believe that a true renaissance can only happen when we raise the bar together. You might know my stained glass work from Stained Glass Geek, my label where I sell glass and patterns to glass lovers and video game fans all over the world.

I aim to reinvent this classic craft by connecting the two worlds of beautiful tradition and today’s pop culture. I absolutely love how glass works, and I’d like to share the many things I’ve learned over the past five years of working with it. The material is so demanding—it really shapes the way you design.

Want to improve not only your technical ability but also your visual skills? Then stained glass might just be the perfect match for you!
