About the class

Hello, I'm Cha Rong Sun.

Are you afraid to draw portraits or watercolors because they are difficult?

In addition to expressing atmospheric characters with watercolors, it will be a class where you can create an impression of the characters by learning detailed descriptions. Focus on coloring to your heart's content while feeling the various colors spread from the tip of the brush! That's the beauty of watercolors!

Course effect

  • Learn how to draw accurate shapes by learning about transcription techniques
  • Learn how to draw atmospheric characters while learning about the blur effect of watercolors
  • You can directly express light and shadow by learning the theory of contrast and dark expression
  • Learn how to create colors that suit a person

Recommended classes

  • Those who don't care about sketching and want to focus on coloring to finish
  • Those who want to learn how to build up details while learning delicate descriptions
  • Those who want to understand the principles using simple materials
  • Those who want to easily express watercolors

3 reasons why this class is special

1. A class where you can directly color people using the technique of transcription

In this class, we will use transcription techniques to draw shapes accurately. People who were relatively new to learning how to draw shapes were often exhausted and couldn't even proceed with coloring. This is a class where you can quickly complete forms using transfer techniques and focus on completing atmospheric characters by spending a lot of time coloring.

2. Smudging is not a mistake, it's a watercolor technique

Wouldn't it be natural for water to smudge? The smudge effect is the most attractive expression in watercolor. There is a tendency for smudges to be treated as a failure or mistake in water control, which is the wrong approach. Watercolors are literally paintings drawn with water, so it's important to make good use of the feeling of water. I'll try to figure out how much water I need to put on the brush to draw, and I'll use a smudge instead. The gentle mood of the characters will be expressed in the smudge.

3. Watercolors can also be retouched!

Watercolors can actually be retouched many times! If you learn the method properly, there is a wide range of corrections that can be made by removing the wrong paint with a brush and applying it again. It's like an eraser. Because if it's easy to edit, I can draw a picture close to what I think, and only then can I complete a picture with a high degree of perfection. Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Watercolors will feel much easier than you might think.

Rising Line

Rising Line

It's a straight line that captures the character's mood.

I think the experience of being deeply immersed without thinking about the passage of time was the first time I felt when drawing portraits. That's true even now. As such, I would like to introduce portraits that are so appealing to me to all of you.

In addition to my personal work, I run a studio and teach students myself, but at first glance I saw that there were more people who had trouble starting painting than I thought, and that was a pity.

I don't know if I made this class because I fully understand that feeling. I want you to go through this course and feel that you can draw really great pictures with just a little bit of courage.
