About the class

In this class, cinematic images are completed using a combination of 3D software Blender and video editing software Da Vinci Resolve, including Unreal Engine 5.1 (hereafter Unreal Engine). We'll show you how to create differentiated videos based on the powerful rendering features provided within Unreal Engine and Epic Games' character creation technology, MetaHuman.

I know the basic features of Unreal Engine,
If you want to create a more colorful and complete cinematic video
Be sure to take this class!

Beginner class (rinkFollowing), I created an intermediate class for those who want to make better works. In this class, based on the workflow I learned in the previous beginner class, I will share advanced know-how to create different metahumans and create animations based on scenes along with theories for creating more attractive scenes.

Anyone who has taken the beginner class can experience improving their 3D cinematic video production skills using Unreal Engine and MetaHuman through this class.

Course effect

  • Intermediate players understand the general pipeline of 3D animation and can plan and envision their own animations.
  • Using Unreal Engine and MetaHuman, you can create and animate backgrounds and characters in an efficient way.
  • While learning the basic theory that must be understood in order to create a video, you can use additional programs required for production.

Recommended target

  • Those who want to further improve their 3D animation production skills after taking the beginner's class
  • Those who want to know the production workflow for cinematic 3D animation
  • Those who want to know how to use Unreal Engine software with other software such as Blender, Da Vinci Resolve, etc.
  • Those who want to create a differentiated 3D video portfolio

Pre-course notes

  • This class is for “intermediates” <Realistic 3D animation completed with Unreal Engine 5.1 and Metahuman> Beginner ClassI recommend that you take a competitive course.
  • A PC or laptop with 16 GB or more of RAM and an RTX 3060 or higher is recommended.
  • All exercises in this class use Unreal Engine 5.1.
  • Some of the hands-on chapters in this class use the free program Blender and Davinci Resolve in parallel. (*Instructions on how to download within the class)

Three reasons why this class is special

❶ From animation scene planning to production!

Revealing simplified workflows from veteran practitioners

▲ Example images of Bae Kyung's works in chapters 2-2 and 2-4

First, a typical practitioner can understand a typical workflow when creating 3D animations. Additionally, I'll show you a simplified workflow using Unreal Engine and MetaHuman. With my efficient approach, you too can create your own production method.

We'll help you learn the overall workflow of cinematic video and animation production while simplifying the complex workflows of traditional studios. Through this course, you will quickly learn your own skills, which will serve as a foundation for future growth.

❷ Create differentiated characters and backgrounds!

Learn how to create a unique atmosphere

▲ Chapter 3-3, 3-4 MetaHuman custom example images

I'll show you how to create a character using MetaHuman Creator alone. Also, since this class is for intermediate players, I upgraded the difficulty level a little more. In addition to MetaHuman, we will reveal how to create a unique MetaHuman by using 3D tools such as Blender in parallel.

Are you afraid to take advantage of new software? Don't worry! We've easily captured only the essential content, so if you follow this class, you can create your own unique MetaHuman.

❸ Effects, lighting, and post-production all at once!

Video made with Unreal Engine and completed with Da Vinci Resolve

▲ Chapter 4-3, 5-3, 5-4 animation production example images

Set up lighting and add effects with Unreal Engine, then use the rendered image as Da Vinci Resolve to color grade to complete it. The class contains only what you need to make an animation, so if you follow along, you'll be able to learn advanced skills that only practitioners know at once.

You can enjoy the pleasure of properly completing your 3D animation through the post-production process of cutting and editing the finished image and adjusting the color.

Hallo

Using Unreal Engine 5 and MetaHuman

This is Crescendo, who is making cinematic videos.

As a 3D artist, I have worked on virtual human projects with companies such as CJ and worked on animated film and art video projects. Recently, I've been teaching animation using Unreal Engine 5 at a university in Korea.

In general, creating a 3D animation requires a huge amount of work time from many artists, and a huge system such as a render farm is required. Of course, if you work collaboratively with many people under an established system, you may be able to create high-quality work, but you cannot avoid compromising with the freedom that individuals really want to express themselves.

So I've always been thinking about the 3D animation work pipeline that individuals can create, and Unreal Engine 5 and MetaHuman, which have made remarkable progress, have relieved me of these concerns. Above all, using Unreal Engine 5 and MetaHuman, I was able to easily complete other basic tasks and complete the results by focusing more on what I wanted to express in the video.

If you've taken your first steps in 3D animation or video production but still don't know how to make a better video, I highly recommend this course. I'm sure beginners will be able to develop their 3D video and animation skills with me.
