Why should I learn Tableau?

In various industries, Tableau is being introduced to enable practitioners in various fields to directly perform data analysis and make proactive decisions. As such, Tableau is a powerful solution with strengths in data analysis and visualization, but due to learning difficulties and lack of data knowledge, it is often impossible or neglected in practice.

This class is designed to help you understand the basic data, learn how to extract basic analysis indicators just by following the flow, and finally create reports that can be directly used in practice.

By organizing classes based on the experience gained from analyzing and creating dashboards using data from various industries, even people without background knowledge can gain confidence in Tableau. Also, since I use practical data, I will share my own know-how so that you can gain highly useful knowledge just by following the classes.

Course effects

Example) “Please write 3 or more course effects in the bullet points below.”

  • Beginners who don't know anything about video editing can easily learn video editing processes and skills.

  • You can learn about chroma key features commonly used in private broadcasts.

  • You can create more colorful videos in a short time through paid template purchase sites and methods of use.

  • You can understand basic concepts about data and query data with SQL.

  • Learn how to set sales indicators required for analysis and implement them through Tableau.

  • Through practice, we create basic sales analysis reports that can be directly used in practice.

Recommended target

Example) “Please write three or more groups of recommended targets in the bullet points below.”

  • Those who have a MAC and are interested in video editing

  • Those who bought Final Cut Pro but are leaving it unattended

  • Those who have Final Cut Pro and only use cut editing and subtitles

  • Those who want to directly extract data and use it for work

  • Those who can't use Tableau because they don't know where to start studying

  • Those who want to improve their work skills based on data close to actual practice

Notes before taking the course

Example: “Please enter the recommended PC specifications or the program version you are using.”

  • This class will be taught in the Korean version of Final Cut Pro 10.6.4.

  • Practice is only possible using a MAC PC and Final Cut Pro.

  • This course will be taught in the 2023.1 version of Tableau Desktop.

  • You can download and use the trial version from the Tableau website.

  • You can use Tableau Public when the trial ends, but some features may be limited.

  • College students can use Tableau Desktop for free through a separate certification process.

N reasons why this class is special

Example)

❶ Attribute training that prioritizes essential skills

Mashmap baking and mask usage are the foundation of all of Substance Painter's features. You must prioritize learning over any other course. In this way, we shared the essential functions and application functions that students should learn, and the core skills were also organized in a practical manner according to priority. Confused by so much information? Now you can learn the skills you need in an effective order through classes.

❶ It's OK if you don't know anything about the data

In order to use Tableau, understanding “data” and “databases” is a priority. However, when they hear the term data, many people think it's difficult. If you're as used to online and app services as you are now, it's as if you're already using a lot of data and living in a database.

As someone who knows where accessibility is poor and difficult due to the experience of being able to work as an analyst without knowing anything about the data, I will enhance my understanding of data with examples often seen around us.

  • The images should focus on the results after creating the class.

  • If you would like to add a personal portfolio, please fill in the details below.

❷ We will collect and deliver mainly content that is useful in practice.

When using a solution, in order to learn all functions and apply them to work, interest falls while learning the functions, and it is difficult to reach the level of free use. I think it is only when I can learn with a focus on functions close to practice and obtain finished results, so there is no difficulty in applying it to my work, and it is easy to expand the scope of application or challenge further learning.

This class focuses on practical exercises, so you can create a completed report simply by taking and following the lessons in order.

❸ We conduct classes using data we can see in actual companies.

Most of the samples available online are well-organized data. If you look at an actual company's database, it's almost always not in the desired format.

You must learn while looking at actual data to be able to handle data on your own. Since this class is based on actual commercial data, you can understand the principles that data is structured and can be immediately applied to practice.

Ryan Kim

Hallo I'm Ryan Kim, a data analyst. I've been working through a lot of trial and error, starting as a data analyst as a liberal arts student and working on Tableau development. Many people are already using data, and I think there are many people who are struggling because they can't organize what they already know on their own. Coincidentally, it was a great opportunity to create a Tableau class, and I will do my best to make it easy for all of you who take the course to use it.
