So, rather than memorizing the pen angle one by one, understand the shape first, and in the direction of the stroke you want to go in, what if the thickness of the stroke is the same as the basic vertical stroke? To be the same as the default horizontal (=1/2 vertical)? You can think about how to put the pen angle. Pen angle is meaningful only when the direction of the stroke is correct. ^^ For both the legs of the R and the serif of the slab, place the pen angle so that the legs of the R = the thickness of the vertical stroke and the serif of the slab = the horizontal stroke (1/2 vertical strokes). Then set the R to 0-10 degrees and the horizontal setting of the slab to 20 degrees. Do you usually hold your thumb tightly to the point where it stings ^^?
