Hyunmi Lee

Hello. I’m Hyunmi Lee, an artist who draws chic colored pencil portraits of girl characters.

I work on illustrations on advertisements, packages, etc. that go in in publications. It's been 13 years since I've become a full-time artist. I want to become an artist whose drawings are used in various media outlets.

Recently I've been working on a project where I draw girls with colored pencils. I use just a few soft colored pencils and simple steps to complete my illustrations. They are more realistic than simple illustrations that consist only of sketch lines, and it is more casual than reality.

I’ve never taught offline classes, but I've written quite a few books. Starting with Painter Holic, a book on the Corel Painter program, there are 'Fashion Girl Hand Drawing Illustration' and 'Character Illustration Drawing', two books about using pencils and colored pencils.

I'm constantly writing books. My ninth book is coming soon, and the tenth book is currently being written. I’m currently located in a quiet, small studio in Seogwipo, south of Jeju Island.
