I've been making patchwork since I was 20 years old, but when I saw a Hawaiian quilt I saw at a Hawaiian hotel I visited with my family, I was attracted to its generosity, so I started doing Hawaiian quilts.

At that time, there were no people doing Hawaiian quilts in Japan, and it was something I couldn't see very often in Hawaii. I think there was also a connection with the fact that they were originally born in Hawaii.

Let's learn applied techniques of Hawaiian quilts, starting with the pattern and ending with piping!

The first beginner's kit contains pre-cut cloth, so I sewed a matsuri stitch to fit the hem and it was done. In this class, we'll begin by cutting a pattern with our own hands.

Also, I'll tell you Cathy Nakajima's unique tips on how to do piping and how to attach zippers, which may be a bit difficult, so be sure to enjoy it!

Let's make use of Cathy Nakajima's original pattern in various places!

The basic method of folding into the eight Hawaiian quilts consists of a curriculum where you can learn naturally while enjoying Kathy Nakajima's original pattern.

Gorgeous and cute design patterns learned from Hawaiian quilt experts

What I'm going to introduce in CLASS101 is an original pattern created for this class that hasn't been shown anywhere yet.

It will only be open to classmates, so how about using the original pattern and applying it from the curriculum content, for example making a larger bag, and try using it in various ways.

This class also welcomes those who gave up on Hawaiian quilts because they were too difficult. Cathy is firmly attached, so it's fine! We will explain it in an easy-to-understand manner so that it can be easily conveyed to everyone, so let's enjoy sewing with a needle.

I would be happy if everyone, regardless of age or gender, enjoyed Hawaiian quilts with excitement and felt their appeal as they continued to take classes.

The beauty of Hawaiian quilts is that they are generous; they can be sewn anywhere with a needle and thread, and you can feel calm while sewing, and the work I enjoy the most is when designing.

Please look forward to Cathy Design in this class as well.

In addition to techniques, I want you to feel the Hawaiian style by studying the background of Hawaiian quilts and decorating works at home.
