Tapestry weaving

Hallo It's “N1 TWL Weaving.” In this class I'm going to complete a tapestry weaving prop with the theme of color blending. Using gradation and blending hatching techniques, I'll create three-dimensional interior accessories that create natural color expressions and stand out for their subtle color.

A different charm from the first one

I'm ready for the second class!

I am so happy to welcome you to my second tapestry weaving class. If the theme of the first class was “harmony of various shapes and colors,” This time, I prepared a class with “colors that blend naturally.”

Since I am mainly influenced by “color,” I am continuing my work, so naturally, the topic of this class also began with color. Apparently, since the weaving work is flat, color also plays an important part! :)

If it was fun to create a combination of colors with clear boundaries in the last class, this time I want to share the fun of subtle and delicate color expressions. If you experience that various color expressions are possible even with weaving, you will be able to do more interesting weaving work.

In this class, the 3 colors switch naturally Gradient techniques, Expressing overlapping shapes in color Blending techniques, which can create an optical illusion How to use stripe techniques, Subtle color expression is possible Hatching techniques, Expressed using the knot technique How to weave gradientsI'll let you know.

This time, I'm going to complete a three-dimensional weaving work. Instead of connecting pieces to complete the work, I'll try to weave the pieces together and minimize the stitching to complete the small items more neatly. Once you get used to three-dimensional weaving by making keytrays, hanging balls, and pouches, you'll be able to apply it to a wider variety of works. We will also make small items of a size that can be completed casually. I'll tell you more about how to apply it to various sizes, how to plan three-dimensional weaving, and how to make it more complete.

What kind of works will we create together?

In this class, I'll introduce some of the works you'll create with me!

  • Shape tea coaster: As you complete the tea coaster, you'll get used to basic weaving and shape weaving. For those who have no experience in weaving, it will be an opportunity to get to know weaving, and for those who weave after a long time, it will be a time to bring back memories.

  • Gradation keytray: Using the gradation technique, I'm going to make a kit tray that can hold small items such as car keys or cards.

  • Color Blending Matte: I'm going to create a mini mat using blending techniques to express overlapping shapes.

  • Striped mug holder: I'm going to make round mug holders of various sizes using the stripe technique.

  • HATCHING HANGING BALL: You'll learn how to weave natural color blending using hatching techniques and create a hanging ball where you can hang small plants or objects.

  • Camouflage mat: You'll complete the table mat by learning how to weave camouflage patterns.

  • Gradation knot pouch: I'm going to make a pouch while learning how to express gradation using the knot technique.

Even after class

I can work on my own!

If in the last class I taught you how to draw a pattern and focused on planar work, this time How to finish a three-dimensional work in different sizesI'll let you know. How to plan three-dimensional works and what to keep in mindI'll also let you know. After completing this lesson, you'll be able to complete more diverse types of works by yourself.

and How to improve the completeness of the workI'll also let you know. I'll show you how I work in more detail How to neatly weave edges and surfaceset Finishing method, Material selection tipsI'll let you know.

I want you to continue to enjoy the weaving work even after the class is over. After creating various shapes as well as weaving techniques that can be used widely, interesting ideas will pop up. :-)

“Color” is always a great inspiration and theme for me. The process of thinking about new color combinations, planning, and seeing the results with your own eyes is always interesting. Following on from the “Color Collage with Thread, Tapestry Weaving” class, which opened last year, I naturally started this class with “color.” I'm planning a second lesson to let you know that subtle and natural color combinations are also possible with weaving :-) In this lesson, I'm planning to create three-dimensional accessories such as keytrays, hanging balls, and pouches, as well as color blending with a variety of colors.
