When I experienced hand-weaving at a yarn shop lined with cute yarns, I had a lot of fun and wanted to learn a little more, so I took the lesson. Currently, I am doing a small hand weaving class in Hyogo prefecture. We offer hand-weaving lessons using rigid machines that you can easily start, complex patterns and weaving lessons with a variety of authentic looms, and instructor-course lessons in line with the curriculum of the Japan Handicraft Promotion Association for those aiming to become hand weaving instructors.

Q. Why did you offer online classes with CLASS101?

Loom machines and hand weaving are crafts that you don't usually see, but the works are easy to incorporate into your daily life, so I would like you to feel free to learn about the world of hand-weaving.

Q. What points did you put the most effort into when planning the class? Who would you recommend this class to?

I made it easy for first-time users to understand, and the work is something that can be used everyday. It incorporates review and application even for those who have done hand weaving, and focuses on techniques that will satisfy them. Recommended for those who want to work diligently at home.

Q. What kind of experience do you want the students to have through this class?

If you have a weaving machine and thread, you can weave a variety of fabrics. The work of writing blueprints and weaving is very plain, but I can make many types of works, such as towels, curtains, mats, etc. The experience of adding a little color to your life with a handmade work or making someone happy as a present makes you feel very confident and happy. I want you to enjoy weaving by touching threads and colors while imagining the fabric you want to use in your daily life.

Q. Please give a message to the students!

It's easy to think that it's difficult, but the fabric is made of only vertical yarn and weft yarn. We will proceed slowly and carefully, so please enjoy making works while being healed by the loom and thread.

※On Instagram, I mainly post photos of wonderful works woven by students.
