Basic techniques

Creation of various works

We'll start by making a small bracelet and then challenge ourselves with a Nantucket basket.

How to make an inner bag

I will make an inner bag that can be used with the Nantucket basket I made.

Do you know Nantucket baskets?

Nantucket is the name of a small island on the east coast of America. A traditional craft born on that island is the Nantucket basket.

Once upon a time, Audrey Hepburn also loved it, and continues to be used by overseas celebrities, and it is said to be the most beautiful basket in the world.

I myself was fascinated by the basket held by a wonderful woman walking around town, and I later learned that it was a Nantucket basket.

I originally liked a variety of basketball from around the world, so I immediately began researching about Nantucket and going through classes. I still remember how moved I was when I finished my first basket.

Nantucket is still not well known in Japan, but it can also be held at a formal, formal seat, and is loved all over the world.

From basic techniques to maintenance methods

It consists of a curriculum that is completely packed into lessons with basic basic techniques that are clear and easy to understand, even for those who are new to this class.

You will learn everything from basic knowledge about materials and design to knitting and maintenance methods, and teach them lessons so that you can make a Nantucket basket, which is called “the most beautiful in the world.”

A basket with a refined design

First, I will practice knitting with a bracelet so that even first-time users can make it, and as a step up, I will weave an original Fafalanco basket incorporating a traditional design.

The production process taught in this class can be applied to any Nantucket basket, so developing it into your own original work is one of the pleasures.

Why don't you knit together a Nantucket basket that can be used beautifully for a long time?

Q. What kind of activities does the teacher do? Please tell me about your teacher!

A. We manufacture and sell all handmade original materials, mainly private lessons and business trip lessons at home, and manufacture and sell custom-made baskets.

We work lightly on footwork so that we can respond to a wide range of requests from beginners to professionals!

Q. How did your teacher start making Nantucket baskets?

A. I was interested when I saw a woman holding a Nantucket basket in the city. Nantucket Basket, which caught my eye and instantly captured my heart in the midst of the hustle and bustle, still moisturizes my heart.

Q. What did you put the most effort into when planning the class? Who would you recommend this class to?

A. I feel that the production of the Nantucket basket is not finished, but that it actually satisfies the user's sense of use and is close to our daily lives. I would like to be able to teach them carefully in the lessons so that my classmates can create baskets that they want to use and cherish for a long time.

Q. Please give a message to the students!

A. There are steady tasks and difficult processes, and I'm sure you're worried about online classes, but feel free to comment on the class!

We look forward to seeing you on the other side of the screen so that you can enjoy participating in the lesson without feeling the distance!
