Nice to meet you. My name is Akemi Furuki, a basket artist.
I usually do basket knitting activities with materials centered on paper bands, but Timb. (Tim) I'm currently knitting paper bands and Timb's baskets because of my encounter with tape materials.
We carry out activities to convey the fun of basket knitting so that people can enrich their lives with baskets they knit themselves.

Timb. Understand the characteristics of tape and challenge various works
Timb. The tape is TENESQUE (TENNEXT), a new material developed independently by Stackstowe. It is finished with a supple and soft feel while maintaining the texture of natural materials. It is made of resin and has excellent water resistance, and since it does not crumble, there is no need to worry about damaging your hands or clothing. Timber to Timb representing wood. It seems that it was named (Tim). Compared to paper bands, Timb is wider. (Tim) Tape makes it easy to knit baskets in a short time, so I recommend it to beginners.
I will carefully explain everything from how to cut the tape to the points to finish the basket neatly. At first, you will learn the basics of basket knitting while making a basket. You can also learn how to make a three-dimensional rim on the cube-rimmed tray. After that, I also make large works such as tote bags and one-handle bags.

I met a paper band in 2000, started classes at a handicraft shop in 2001, and began teaching at schools and community centers. I also teach a lot at culture schools, etc. It is popular for its cute taste and easy-to-understand way of making it. Currently, culture schools are left to instructors and taught only in atelier classrooms.
He began providing designs to handicraft makers and books in 2002, and published his first book in 2008.
My 22nd book is on sale so far. (As of 2021/6)
Appeared on NHK's “Nicely Handmade” in 2010.
Since 2012, workshops have been held in Higashimatsushima City and Ishinomaki City every year to support disaster-stricken areas.
Overseas workshops have also been held since 2014. (Germany, France, Hungary, etc.)
Since 2017, basket knitting lessons have been offered at 31 retail chain stores nationwide.

Q. Why did you offer online classes with CLASS101?
It's easy to understand when watching videos such as hand movements, force application, and the flow of knitting. You can take the course anytime, anywhere you like. I also wanted to do a video lesson that I don't know and can look back at as many times as I want.
Q. What points did you put the most effort into when planning the class? Who would you recommend this class to?
I can make my own basket. Basic knitting lessons so that even first-time basket knitting users can enjoy it. Add one point to a simple basket. I recommend it to those who want to try something, those who like baskets, and those who are particular about it.
Q. What kind of experience do you want the students to have through this class?
Timb tape has just the right amount of tension and can be washed. Although it looks like a natural material, it does not require pretreatment, does not rustle, and is gentle on the hands, durable, and easy to handle. I want you to enjoy the fun of knitting baskets, the sense of accomplishment of being able to make your own, and be able to make the basket you want.

The work of knitting baskets also has a healing effect. Why don't you incorporate a basket you've knitted yourself into your daily life?
