About the class
Hello, I'm Ji-young Kim, a bracelet winner who won the WSOP Ladies Event, the largest Hold'em competition in the world in 2019, beating 968 participants. I think the WSOP tournament is where every poker player dreams of their final goal, and although it's a ladies' event in a poker tournament dominated by male players, it's still the first time for a Korean person, so I think it's even more meaningful.
In recent years, many famous players from Korea have been introduced into the poker scene and shown active activities, and poker has begun to be recognized as a popular game genre and official sport in Japan, but even until 2007, when I first started playing poker, there was a strong negative perception of poker in Korea. Seven Poker, a form of betting, was first introduced in Korea, which gave rise to this negative image, but if you had faced Hold'em as a tournament from the beginning, you wouldn't have objected to the fact that poker is a mind sport that identifies the opponent's psychological state through thorough analysis and makes maximum use of probability and strategy.
There is no doubt that poker is a game of chance and strategy. However, that probability isn't the right answer. Since the element of luck must be followed, and even that must be thoroughly calculated, it seems to be an even more interesting and exciting game. After stumbling into poker through an acquaintance's introduction in 2007, I experienced numerous defeats and setbacks over a period of just over 15 years until I became a professional player and became a bracelet winner, and I captured all of my know-how built up through repeated abandonment and challenges in this class. I hope my classes will help you understand and enjoy poker as a mind sport.
