Class introduction

This is a course to learn how to reduce repetitive code in React projects and develop your own utilities and hooks into a library. We guide you to grow from a 'developer' to a 'tool maker' by experiencing design, documentation, testing, and deployment rather than just writing code.

3 reasons this class is special

❶ A course anyone can start

The starting point is “repetitive code problems” that are naturally encountered during development. By following the process of developing small hooks into libraries, you can learn how to think from a producer's point of view. It focuses on actual code and examples, making it easy to understand and practical.

❷ The entire process from basics to deployment in one go

API design, type definition, documentation, testing, automation, and even npm deployment. Normally, you can find multiple materials and experience what you need to learn in a single flow. It's not just a simple implementation; it also provides an experience of completing a tool that can actually be used by others.

❸ Scalable experience with growth routines

What you complete in the course is a small library, but in the process, you'll learn “how to define a problem, select only the features you need as an MVP, and gradually improve it.” This experience later becomes a growth routine that can be extended to personal projects, open source contributions, and improving the quality of working code.

Course effect

How to extract repeated code as hooks
Experience designing APIs with usability in mind
Ensure clarity with README and type design
Quality control habits through testing and automation
Library distribution and open source contributions

Recommended target

No more, no less, someone who has created 1 or 2 of their own React projects
Those who want to create and organize custom hooks
People interested in library distribution and open source

Notes before taking the course

This course is for those with basic knowledge of React and TypeScript. Rather than advanced theory, it focuses on extracting iterative logic encountered in actual projects into libraries, designing APIs, and managing quality through testing and automation. No experience with npm deployment is required. It is designed so that you can learn naturally by following the exercises during the lecture.
