🎵 “I have a physical condition, can I dance too?”

This is a question I hear a lot from first-time salsa or bachata learners. My answer is always the same. “Of course. That's why I'm here to learn.”

We are already walking every day

Take your left foot, take your right foot, and transfer your weight naturally. The dance also starts here. Salsa and bachata don't mean you have to suddenly build a special body. To my usual movements Adding music and rhythm, That's the beginning of the dance.

When I learn to dance for the first time, I keep seeing other people. “Why is he so natural?” “Why do I keep twisting my feet?” Then I couldn't hear the music and just stared at my feet. However, the purpose of dancing is not to get the steps wrong. Listening to music, moving with a partner, and enjoying that time. That's the first thing.

This class begins by abandoning the idea “I can't dance.” It's not that I haven't been able to run yet, Just something I haven't learned yetBecause it is.

FAQs

Q. Can I listen without a partner? A. Yes. Basic, Turn, and Beat Finding is designed to be practiced alone, and there is a separate “Practicing without a partner” course. The partner pattern shows all the perspectives of a leader and follower, so you can apply it as soon as you have a partner.

Q. I only want to learn salsa or bachata. A. The chapters are divided by dance, so you can choose whatever you want to listen to. However, since the principles of connection (holding, frame, lead & follow) and turn are common to both dances, I recommend watching chapters 2 and 3 first.

Q. I don't have motor skills and can't keep up with the beat. Is that really okay? A. That's why we have this class. The “Music and Practice” chapter deals separately with how to count by numbers, how to find your first night, and how to go back in if you missed it. Try repeating slowly using the player's speed control and interval repetition.

Q. Can I learn even if I'm older? A. Salsa and bachata are not just dances performed by majors or celebrities; they are dances that any ordinary person can perform. You can start with a relaxation course to the extent that you don't overdo it.

Q. Can I go to a social dance class as soon as I finish the course? A. The “Introduction to Social Dance” chapter is a guide for your first visit. If you know the salsaba system, dance requests and rejections, and even etiquette, the first day will be much less awkward. Two or three basic and essential patterns are enough to sing one song together.
