Skills You’ll Learn

Draw with strength control without three-dimensional effect

Strength control is the beginning and end of a painting. I'll use graphite powder to cook it easily

Three-dimensional smoke drawing

Based on a simple understanding of light, I will draw a picture of a smashing smoke

Drawing with an eraser 1

In addition to erasing, learn eraser skills that can draw great pictures

Drawing with an eraser 2

I'll draw a masculine lightning (electricity) by bending a straight line and adjusting strength.

Use an eraser to draw a cloud of dreamy dreams

Strength control is key! I'm going to draw a cloud of clouds and sunlight shining through them.

Draw the universe, shooting stars, and planets

Your eyes look like a lake! I want to draw a universe where the lake is nice but the expression is fun

I'm Yumi Sam, and I'm going to create dreams with all of you.

My name is Yumi? presently For students who are unable to attend art school due to financial reasons or personal reasons I'm posting entrance examination art content on YouTube on a channel called YouTube Art School. Yumi Sam is short for YouTube Art School Lim Sam.

'Ah, it's frustrating. '

Like last night's dream, my feelings these days, or a fun imagination I can't tell anyone Expressing things that seem to be caught, that are within me but are hard to put out in writing or wordsWas there anything you wanted to do?

For 17 years, I was a lecturer specializing in American college entrance examinations, mainly teaching students how to express realistic expressions. I spent quite a while teaching the objects I saw in front of me and the extremely realistic things, and I lost my interest in painting. Painting is like music, writing, or dance, my thoughts, my feelings, etc. “When I'm the center,” I think I have value.

I paint my thoughts, my feelings, and my imagination

My hope is that everyone who takes this class “A painting with a story of my own”It's about drawing. It's important to have a unique style of painting, but it's not too late to gradually create after experiencing a lot of paintings. However, I think that drawing “my thoughts, my feelings, my imagination” should be an effort from when you are not good at expressing it.

How about recording your daily life in a single picture?

Do you know the hidden appeal of pencils and erasers?

Through this course The hidden appeal of pencils and erasersI would like to introduce you to. With a pencil, you can stack up lines one by one or use the pressure adjustment to create a nice line drawing. However, before it became a pencil You can also use graphite powder to express it by scrubbing it, or use an eraser like a white pencil to create a beautiful and cool expressionIt is also possible.

Draw 6 surreal, dreamy pictures

Smoke, clouds, pouring stars and the night sky, lightning, soap bubbles A total of 6 natural phenomena are drawn together, and realistic shapes are synthesized here to draw surreal pictures.

In this process, you can feel the infinite possibilities of synthesis and the dreamy charm of surreal works and use them in a variety of ways.

The first step to great results is a very small change

We live in reality and are perfectly adapted. I already have information in my head, such as shape, color, texture, volume, and texture.

How about an apple, for example? The apple is round, yellow, green, and red, and has a semi-soft texture, the size of an adult's fist, and is a three-dimensional object. Even if you change just one of these things, it will be much newer and fresher. This is an apple the size of an apple that fills a room, as seen in Renée Magritte's “Listening Room” work.

(Reference photo: René Magritte: Listening Room, 1953)

“I don't paint the real thing, I paint the emotions that evoke in me.”

-René Magritte (Belgium, November 21, 1898 - August 15, 1967)

If you throw away the stereotype

Me too, a surrealist artist!

We have prepared a class so that everyone can learn very plausible expressions.

In this process, you can draw some natural phenomena, and By breaking away from stereotypes, you are already a surrealist artistIt can be said that it laid the foundation for expressing the feelings of the moment with pictures :-)

“Stronger and weaker”... The key is quick control

To handle a pencil well often means to skillfully give a “pen pressure difference.” Since pen pressure is something you can master by drawing a lot of lines, I won't be dealing with standing exercises or pen pressure separately in this course.

However, I'm going to tell you a lot about “strength control,” In this process, you will naturally learn pen pressure :-) The most important thing in realistic expression is form. In this lesson You'll get out of the pressure of form and focus on “technique” and “fun imagination.”

“Why did you come out of there?”

When we don't have common sense, we think, ponder, and remember one more time. Not only is it a way to naturally synthesize natural phenomena and real things, but it's like Like poetry, you'll also learn how to use metaphors, implications, and symbols to impart meaning (storytelling).

A picture filled with thought is solid

I think this course was probably created in the process of reflecting on myself. I have a lot of regrets when I look back on the past 17 years when I taught students the art of expression rather than unleashing their creativity, and I only thought about passing the results. It's a habit to say, “Expression is more important than I think,” but nowadays, I often think that a painting that doesn't touch the painter's breath is empty.

The standards for a well-drawn picture are sensitive to the times, culture, and fashion,
I believe that a picture filled with thought is solid.
Starting today, let's express “I” together!

Finding my lost self.

I only taught entrance examination art for 17 years from the year I was 20 years old.

I thought the depression, inferiority, and anxiety that came at some point was a small part of life... I couldn't be a lecturer again, and I couldn't love anything. Even myself.

After I quit all my jobs, I didn't draw a line for a year. Nevertheless, there was a feeling of heaviness in the corner of their heart, but they were students who had financial difficulties or were struggling to attend school due to the opposition of their parents.

In order to relieve that burden of mind, I started posting content on entrance examination art on YouTube. Thankfully, 2200 people subscribed to the narrow and deep area of entrance examination art content for a little over half a year, and in the process I found myself that I had lost and loved myself.

I didn't care enough to respond to feedback from comments, etc., so I applied for a course in class 101 to separate hobby art because there was a slight mixture of entrance examination art and hobby art.

If you are able to give a lecture because of your support, and if I make a profit from it, I would like to return all of the proceeds as a gift of materials to students who do art in difficult environments.

Thank you so much for your support!
