I hope that through this class, not only those visiting Rami Seoul's workshop, but also more people will be able to fall in love with the charm of leather. We will prepare and look for you so that you can enjoy making leather products at home. > โ€œI loved it!โ€ I hope that today, when you are happy to do so, will be captured as a precious memory together.

Rami Seoul only uses skins from animals that have been slaughtered or died naturally for food. Also, I hope that slaughter for food will be carried out more humanely.

What do you learn?

Handmade leather crafts created by cutting and bonding leather, and stitching with thread one by one. When you see that, the romance of โ€œI want to try it tooโ€ comes up, but I'm probably frustrated by the reality that it's hard to find a workshop. Now You can finish your introduction to leather crafts at home. Let's understand leather and make it with our own hands with Rami Seoul.

  • Those who have gone to a leather workshop to take a one-day class, but are dissatisfied because they can't make other items
  • Those who want to carry their own leather goods made by me
  • Those who want to give a special gift with their own touch to their loved ones
  • Those who want to continue to try leather crafts on their own

Estimated class time

I will try to create a total of 3 items over 12 weeks. It's better if you work carefully for a longer period of time, so I can practice, review, and make leather crafts my hobby during the course.

Depending on the individual, the time it takes to complete the product may vary.

Key lessons learned in class

Saddle stitch, the basics of leather crafts

Saddle stitch can be said to be the basis of leather crafts! It's also famous for its very strong stitching! I'm going to put a needle on both ends of the thread and stitch with both hands one by one. Clean bonding

The basics of a perfect finish! I'm going to teach you bonding skills that are easy, difficult, and actually simple. I want to put on the leather items I made so that they are strong and can be used for a long time! Smooth side finish

If you touch old wooden furniture or old buildings, the parts that have been touched a lot will have a semi-glossy shine. That's how I'm going to apply water to the leather section and rub it with wood to make it shiny. How to finish a thread without glue

You can also finish by burning the thread and pressing it firmly against the leather. The thread that is pressed flat against the leather surface doesn't hang anywhere, so it won't fall off. How to make a pattern

This is an essential thing to know in order to continue doing leather crafts alone at home. Here are tips for creating products with the design you want. Dyeing leather

I'll show you how to evenly dye leather in the color I want. Let's add color by applying a dash of dye with my own touch. We also work with leather coating.

RAMI Seoul

I'm Rami from the leather workshop โ€œRami Seoulโ€ of the social club Dongbang Salon. I started in Chungmuro in 2012 and now I'm at the end of Dongbang Salon in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, with all my friends. I run Rami Seoul.

Can I call myself a โ€œleather craftsmanโ€ now? After thinking about this, it turned out to be a โ€œleather workshopโ€ or โ€œworkshop.โ€

I think the love for our young girls who sometimes met in class at 7 o'clock in the evening, watched the sun rise at 7 o'clock in the morning together, and stayed together crying and laughing, holding me here. (It's a nickname that I definitely want to hold like a mother bird, it's a baby bird huh)

It's a life I always want to leave, but I'm actually so happy that I have no choice but to be here like this.

I've met over 300 students offline, but I'm still ashamed and unsure of the word teacher. Even so, I'm happy that someone is here, and when I see them waiting for the day to come, they say, โ€œOh, am I a good teacher?โ€ I also think about that.

When I see people learning from me and starting workshops, I still feel amazing, wonderful, and amazing. I think I've made a huge choice in my life for my own happiness.

The word โ€œfirst timeโ€ is very intense.

I want to be with you at the beginning so that I can be happy when I'm touching leather. I hope it will add a little bit of fun to the hearts of everyone I met at the table.
