Everyone can be an illustrator

After I graduated from college, I went to a design company for a while, and since then I taught art to elementary school children. Then one day I followed my husband to America. It's also rural America. As I got used to the busy life in Korea, I realized that there are places in the world where I can't do this and I'm bored. It was a day or two of games and dramas, and I was about to pack my luggage and return to Korea after living like this.

So I bought art materials from a flower shop near my house. But contrary to an ambitious plan, I'm not going to be able to draw a single picture. I didn't know what to draw. When I wanted to draw a flower and was tearing it off, I found myself tearing it off one by one as if I were drawing some kind of ecological detail, and I couldn't start but was just thinking about it. I couldn't get started because I was burdened with the results.

Then one day, I was asked to write a business card, and it was too wasteful to remake a business card to write more than ten of them. So I just cut a bunch of watercolor paper and made a bookmark and business card. I wrote a bookmark picture on the front and my name and contact information on the back. Then I posted that picture on Instagram, and people click on the heart and come back!

That's why I found out. A well-drawn picture is not a picture that works well! Even if it's small and simple, there are people who like it! I have gained so much confidence, and now I am an outsourced work, and I have become a real artist working on various plans as an illustrator.
