The Korean thing is the most global thing

I'm Seolhye Joo Ja-gyeong who wants to share her dreams through traditional folktales.

It's been 16 years since I started folk tales. I studied photography abroad when I was young. The task of creating my own work was difficult at first, but more and more people admired the oriental beauty and Korean beauty of my work, I learned that what is most Korean is the most global.

And I've been drawing folk tales until now. For those who want to try traditional folklore, but couldn't get started because they found it difficult for some reason, we have prepared a class so that anyone can easily try it out.

Paintings and folktales that embody the sentiment of the common people

Folktales are practical paintings that simply express landscapes, animal and plant life, and can be said to be paintings that blend the sentiment of the common people. Folk tales are us Modern flair with unique traditional characteristicsI also have it. That's why I think they've been living and breathing by our side for so long.

If you learn the delicate colors and expressive techniques of folktales, you will experience unique expression and imagination not only in the canvas, but also in your life.

Of course, the most important thing is in folktale work Time to get some rest and healIt's probably because you have.

[Let's make 3 folktale works]

“Jakhodo,” which acts as a guardian deity

First, it's the most popular folktale “Jakhodo,” which acts as a guardian deityLet's complete it.

The magpie of Jakhodo is used to mean that a welcome guest comes. Also, the tiger acted as a guardian deity to protect the house, so it was hung on the door or front door in the sense that thieves would not come in and only bring good news.

Make a nice gift for someone special. It will be a special gift filled with my heart.

“Hwajeokdo,” which means a good couple's love

Second “Friendship” means love, happiness, and a good coupleI'm going to draw on two sides! Also, you will learn about what traditional folklore paintings are. First, let's learn about the basic technique of folklore, the barim technique.

The barding technique is a technique to create a gradation by mixing colors multiple times. repeated You will be able to find rest in the process of completing the work through the barim technique.

“Morando,” a symbol of wealth movies

last “Morando”, a symbol of wealth movies, is a silk debtI'll draw it on!

The painting technique in folk tales is to brush over and over again, and the more hands are drawn, the more intense the color becomes. Due to the nature of silk fans, it can be difficult to clean as smoothly as paper. There are brush marks, and I'll show you carefully how to finish the debt nicely.

By making it nicely, for someone special Give it a special gift

Hello!

This is Juja-gyeong Twirl e Seol-hye. First of all, I would like to introduce myself as a folktale writer and dance movement therapist. Twirling means Dream of Frame. In this age where it is very difficult to have a dream, it also means finding rest and vitality through each person's hobby or any kind of work, and sharing with each person's dreams in life. Also, Seolhye means an orchid blooming in the snow, and it also means strong vitality. ^^

Looking back while making classes, it's been 16 years since I started folktales. I studied photography abroad when I was young. Unlike education in Korea, the work of creating my own work was stressful at first. More and more people admired the oriental beauty of my work, the beauty of Korea, and I learned that what is most Korean is the most cosmopolitan. Actually, even in the early 2000s when I was studying, my awareness of Korea was low. However, I didn't know too much about Korea, so I couldn't tell you. That's why I came back to Korea to learn folk tales.

In fact, traditional folklore, which began with a thrill, looked beautiful, but behind that, it took time for the artist to complete a work of finesse and refinement, Korean philosophy and humor that I had never thought of, and the artist's recognition. I was in my mid-twenties at the time, and I was in a very uncertain state due to the uncertain future, and I also had questions about whether I could continue to do such delicate and elaborate work. However, once I got into the work, I had no choice but to fall in love with the charm of folk tales as I experienced Muirche, where I was immersed in it, forgot everything, and became completely united. While I was immersed in the work, I was able to notice that my personality also changed very steadily and calmly.

I got a healing experience from folk tales about whether I can continue to do it, and now I'm working as a dance movement therapist and folktale writer to help more people. Folk songs and dance motion therapy seem to be different, but I think that giving them a healing experience is in line with each other. And now I want to give you a healing time too.

Now for the traditional folklore class, let's meet at Class 101!
