I started calligraphy on my own a long time ago. There weren't many places where I could learn, and the idea was “if it doesn't suit your taste after trying, don't do it.”
I think I lived a very busy life. I had a lot of things I wanted to do and I was greedy, so I lived tirelessly.
Instead, in the early morning before going to bed after work, I turned on a light stand and wrote. At first, it was frustrating and I thought it might be a waste of time.
I really enjoyed that quiet time where I focused on myself day, day or two, day in and day out. It's time to think about what to write and how to write pretty. When I think about it, I haven't been able to look back on my thoughts, my feelings, or my daily life due to my busy life.
Right now, I'm recording everyday life as it passes by. I write down my feelings and favorite words, and if there's a nice landscape, I take a picture. Then, late at night, I turn on the lamp again and write.
For me, calligraphy is a kind of “comma.” I love that quiet time where I can focus on myself, where I can record and reflect on my daily life.
