“Drawing is just another way to keep a diary.”

Hello, I'm OkArt, an illustrator.

Like writing a diary, why don't you record what you see and feel at a travel destination with pictures? In this class I'm going to record everything from everyday life to travel together with contour drawings.

Contour drawings are attractive even if they are crooked

Contour drawing Contour (outline) and Drawing (drawing mainly with lines)These are combined art terms. I can draw in a short time using a drawing technique that focuses on form rather than description Not only is it easy to access even for those who are new to painting, it is also a useful technique for developing observation and form skills. Even when I can't paint for a long time outdoors, I can paint in a short time of about 10 minutes.

The picture of a travel destination is nice, but the pictures drawn at the destination have a different feeling than looking at a photo book. Drawing a picture requires time to observe each one, so I can see more things and remember them more clearly.

I meet other travelers while painting, and my paintings become a link and create other memories. Even when I return to my daily life, I sometimes look into those paintings, and I remember the conversations I had with the people I met, the weather and temperature at that time, and my appearance and feelings more vividly.

Record everything from everyday life to travel as if it were a diary!

My travel drawing began in 2012 when I left Jeju Island alone. I started with the simple idea of “Let's draw what I can see, just what I want to draw” rather than a painting that has been evaluated for a while. And the biggest reason I got ready for this class was my six-month trip to Europe in 2017. In particular, during my 33-day stay in Seville, Spain, my travel drawing book filled with a sketchbook brought me a special experience.

Sometimes we have the experience of not being able to take pictures at places we definitely wanted to visit. That's right grime I am contour By drawing I will record.

Also, thankfully, I have posted my paintings there on Instagram at a museum and a place called Els 4Gats in Barcelona (a restaurant Picasso often went to, known as 4 Cats among Picasso's paintings). It's a very happy and meaningful memory.

On one day, I was invited to the home of a painter working in Seville to visit the studio, and I met other painters and talked about their trips while looking at each other's sketchbooks. I also gave them a simple portrait drawn with a contour drawing as a gift, and thankfully, I was treated to the meal of the day.

Drawing, which began with the intention of simply drawing a picture like my diary, became a medium, made a connection, and added depth to my trip. Since I went on a trip to share and share those memories, I have been running a small Japanese style room and taking travel drawing classes.

Hello? Illustrator OkArt, Kim Jong-okIt's.

The image is based on the self's thoughts. Even the same objects and spaces are imaged in a moment, and emotions are projected and viewed according to the perspective from which they are viewed. If you look at a familiar path that has always been there with a special feeling, it will feel like a different path from yesterday.

There is no correct answer to the picture. If you focus on yourself as a painter and look more into yourself, you will have a mindful eye to see things that have passed by in everyday life with interest.

Through painting, I would like to present a special feeling that can be a different path from yesterday.
