You often use channels like KakaoTalk and Instagram to communicate with people around you, right? In order to be active, posting a real photo on the profile image will give the other party a definite sense of trust.
I've seen countless cases where people around me quickly give up on building communication channels because of the pressure to reveal the real thing. Since I used to rarely do social media activities, it wasn't easy to reveal my face for on-tact, so I fully sympathize with you.
