Yumiko Horiguchi
I'm Yumi, a lecturer certified by the Japan Hair Braiders Association (JHBA), who runs a hair braiding salon called Berry's Braids in Chiba City.
It is a slightly special hairdresser who specializes in braiding hair, called a “hair braider (hair braider).”
We usually focus on salon work, not only for the general public and foreigners, but also for clients, professionals from various industries, such as dancers, artists, performers, athletes, and foreign talent.
Q. How did your teacher get into cornrow? A. I've been fond of street dance and R&B black culture since I was in elementary school, and I was naturally interested in hairstyles such as cornrow, blaze, and dreadlocks, etc., but I came across reggae music in my early 20s, and I was fascinated by the depth of dreadlocks, and at the same time, my intuition suddenly worked, “Oh, I'm going to live with braids,” and I followed it.
I think it's my vocation now, so the feeling that inspired me at that time was correct!
Q. Why did you decide to offer online classes with CLASS101?
A. I have received many voices saying they want to learn cornrow for a long time (especially hairdressers, hair and makeup artists, and parents of kids dancers), and I have also received consultations from people far away about attending classes, etc., and I thought that if it was online and on demand, I would be able to take my classes without difficulty according to everyone's lives.
