I was born in 1969 in Seoul. The direction of my life changed after I first tasted the happiness of picture books at the age of thirty. I liked picture books, so I started writing picture book reviews to convey the happiness of picture books, and I also started translating children's books thanks to a senior who loves picture books. In 2009, when I was forty-one, I created Polar Bear, a publishing house specializing in picture books, with my dream translator partner Lee Sun-young, and debuted as an artist at forty two.

The Polar Bear Coda series, such as the debut film “Polar Bear Corda, Black Nose,” “Black Koda,” and “Polar Bear Coda, Ho,” was exported to 11 countries including France, Italy, and Spain, and gained worldwide fame. Also, as the editor-in-chief of Polar Bear Publishing House, I participated in leading book fairs such as the Bologna Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair with CEO Lee Sun-young since 2011, and worked hard to export creative picture books. As a result, Polar Bear Publishing has established itself as a world-class picture book publisher after 10 years of establishment.

In 2014, I opened the picture book specialty bookstore Iruri Books (formerly Frederick Books), which caused a boom in picture book bookstores and independent bookstores, and I have been active as a picture book instructor, starting with summer vacation teacher training on Gakdonet. In 2016, I opened a video lecture at the Ice Cream Training Center < Picture Books, Knocking on the Hearts of Our Class> I received it. Also, she made a calm impression by appearing on CBS's <15 Minutes That Changed the World >.

Iruri proposed a <Sangsang Manbal Book Picture Exhibition> co-hosted by the Wow Book Art Center and Naver Grapholio, and has participated as a jury member since the first time. Furthermore, we are constantly nurturing new artists through the < Iruri Bologna Workshop>, proving that everyone was born as an artist. We are also holding a <Picture Book Activist Workshop> to spread the happiness of picture books with picture book activists. His books include “Polar Bear Koda, Black Nose,” “Black Koda,” “Polar Bear, Ho,” “Angel Angela,” “Picture Book Trip with Dad,” “Picture Book Trip with Dad,” “To the Earth,” “Boiled Eggs,” “Pung,” “Always by Your Side,” and “The Last Ship.”
