[Message from the creator]
Nice to meet you. I'm Asako Yoshihama, an illustrator. I've been a professional for about 18 years, and I've been working on a variety of illustration jobs.
I've been focusing on illustrations of women in particular, but I want to try making miscellaneous goods that I've been aiming for since the early days! I've been thinking about a new touch to make that dream come true.
I often draw cute Scandinavian illustrations that are used as miscellaneous goods, and I am devoting myself every day to further polish them.
I would like to be able to share the knowledge and tips I have gained in the process so far in a fun and easy-to-understand manner. I'll teach you the fun of drawing stylish illustrations ♪
Q. How did you start drawing illustrations?
A. Since I was a student, I occasionally sent my work to the “Illustration (Genkosha)” section, and I wanted to live my life with illustrations, but when I was in agony because I didn't know how to be, I saw in a bookstore called “The Reason I Became an Illustrator” (written by Hiromi Tanaka) caught my eye, and I sold my work using that as a model. At that time, people saw the work face-to-face anywhere, which is rare now, so I feel that the rate of people connected to work was also high.
Q. What points did you put the most effort into when planning the class?
A. I draw lots of flowers and plants so that it's fun to draw and that you can get the hang of it, so by the time you're done, you'll be able to arrange them naturally and expand the range of your original work! I want to draw an original work! I hope it will help those who say that.
Q. Please give a message to the students!
A. I hope you can experience the fun of drawing illustrations like prints using Photoshop textures and layer effects. Please enjoy working on it based on your senses without thinking deeply. I'm sure you'll be able to draw a different view of the world by the time it's over.
