Don't you think this way?

This is a class where I will teach you plenty of tips for drawing food in a tasty and stylish way while feeling the fun of watercolor. Why don't you draw food illustrations that are delicious even when you look at them?

Play with colors by making a “color mixing table” as a basis for transparent watercolor

It is a curriculum that even beginners who are “almost new to using watercolors or haven't been in a long time” can learn with peace of mind.

First, you will learn the basics of watercolor illustration necessary to be able to draw food illustrations, such as how to use brushes and water, and how to mix colors.

First, we make a color sample called a “color mixing table” and check the amount of water and the color mixing ratio one by one. When I paint with watercolors, I sometimes encounter moments where new colors are born that I didn't even intend. It's also one of the pleasures of watercolors. I hope you can also experience the “fun of watercolor paint” that only the person who actually drew it can understand.

No difficult techniques! Colorful and transparent food illustrations

The main tools used in class are “25 Holbein Watercolor Paints,” which have beautiful and vivid colors, and a thin brush called “Camlon Pro.” I will introduce watercolor illustration techniques such as “how to move a brush” and “amount of water,” which are difficult to understand in sentences, in an easy-to-understand video. At the same time, creator Kinokko's unique coloring know-how and color selection methods will also be shown to the public! Let's complete the illustrations together while being healed by the colorful watercolors!

Retro vibe & authenticity

Using the “bleeding” peculiar to watercolors and the expression of light and shade to make it look more realistic, we will finish it like the real thing. We also introduce tips for inserting characters to create a retro atmosphere.

Making a watercolor illustration notebook with a collection of cafe sweets and recipes

Why don't you collect the food you made, sweets, and meals you ate at a cafe in a watercolor illustration notebook?

Kinokko, who makes and researches watercolor illustration notebooks every day, will introduce tips for putting them together fashionably, such as “how to make an illustration notebook” and “how to write characters that match the illustrations.” I want to love my favorite hand-drawn illustrations and characters!” We support notebook making that can embody that thought!

Why don't you start drawing watercolor food illustrations that are fun to draw?

Once you have learned the basics and are able to master watercolors, by the time class is over, everyone will say “I want to draw!” You will be able to draw illustrations of foods that you think of, and drawing illustrations should become more and more fun.

Experience the fun of illustrating your favorite food and sweets through the class!

I like hand-drawn illustrations and letters, and while making notes and doing research every day, I also work as an illustrator. I want to make a stylish illustration notebook! With that in mind, I studied watercolor painting, and enjoyed it alone for a while, but after I started sending messages on SNS, I received warm voices from many people, and I began research on making illustration notebooks in earnest. Since I was born in Showa, I'm particularly addicted to drawing illustrations with a retro atmosphere.

When I sent the illustration notes I created to SNS, I began to receive requests for illustration production from companies, and I began to work as an illustrator. I mainly produce food illustrations for health-related booklets, packaging illustrations for pastry shops, and sweets illustrations for websites.

[Creator Interview]

Q. How did your teacher start drawing watercolor food illustrations?

A. Originally, when I found a magazine with hand-drawn illustrations, I bought it on impulse and enjoyed looking at it. However, “it will go bankrupt at this rate! Instead of buying a magazine, I made a notebook full of hand-drawn illustrations and said, “Let's satisfy my desire to draw by hand!” I thought, so I started making illustration notebooks. At first, I drew in my own style, but I thought “I want to be able to draw more exciting illustrations,” so I started studying watercolor, and settled on my current way of drawing.

Q. What points did you put the most effort into when planning the class?

A. I've been using watercolors since elementary school classes! I chose the theme of food that is fun to draw so that even beginners like that can enjoy it. Also, in the lesson where you learn the basics of watercolor illustration, “I want to use more watercolors!” I made the curriculum so that you can think of it.

Q. Please give a message to the students!

A. Using the basic watercolor techniques learned in class, I will explain in detail how to actually proceed with drawing using videos. Kinokko's unique coloring know-how and color selection methods for drawing “tasty and stylish food illustrations” with watercolors, which I have learned in making illustration notebooks so far, are also open to the public! Let's complete the illustrations together while being healed by the colorful watercolors!
