Problems that junior designers have

We'll solve it once and for all!

I've been studying with a lot of investment, but why don't I work as I thought when I try to work on my own?

I met a lot of designers whose design was too difficult. I am running the class with the idea that it should be a class that teaches junior designers about principles that I can directly apply when designing, rather than teaching them about theoretical design theory.

Design started because you liked it anymore, don't worry about it. I think learning how to have fun with your favorite designs should be at the center of my design classes.

I lack design sense and talent.

What is lacking is not sense and talent, but repeated practice. There are many people who think that design is all about creativity. However, inspiration can only be obtained with background knowledge, and the sense of thinking that it is an innate talent is expressed through repeated learning and practice. Design that relies on senses may eventually make it difficult to work in the business for a long time.

In this class, I will introduce a study method that has allowed me to survive as a designer for a long time, even though I have been designing for 20 years!

Hallo

Doing design and teaching design

This is Lee In Seo.

I've been working in design for 20 years this year, and since 2013 I've been running offline design classes for 9 years, starting with design lectures at universities. If you want to check out the work of the students in the classes I run, you can check it out on my blog.

9 years of offline design classes

The secret to 100% satisfaction

1 ️ I don't learn at school

Real cosmetics package design practice

As beauty brands explode in Korea, there are many friends who want to get a job as a package designer for cosmetics brands. However, the reality is that schools don't just specialize in package design for cosmetics brands.

I've watched a lot of friends who just want to get a job at a cosmetics company doing cosmetic package design by finding a mockup, making a logo, and placing it.

I have been creating package design portfolios for cosmetics brands with many friends for 9 years, and I was able to feel a lot of rewarding watching them advance into various beauty brands, from large companies to small brands, and turn dreams into reality.

We have organized a cosmetics design curriculum that is easy to create one by one from the basics, centering on the know-how we have experienced while working on numerous cosmetics projects so far.

2 ️ Starting with the ideation method one by one!

Learn design that convinces

Design requires a process of persuasion from beginning to end. The appeal of design is that there is no definitive answer, and it is also a point that many people find difficult. I need to explain why I should design this way when I'm working on an assignment, team work, or when I meet a client, or to all the designers I work with in other departments of the company. And when we determine that the reason is appropriate, we can take the next step.

Since design is aimed at the public, it must be able to convince everyone and be able to resonate with the brand. It's a fact everyone knows, but the hardest part of the design process is convincing others.

How convincing do you think my ideas and designs are?

We will discuss in detail the stages of persuasive ideation and the stages of thinking for logical design. Also, for those who say they can't work because they can't think of inspiration, I'll also introduce an idea study method that you can practice on a daily basis.

3 ️ It's OK even if you don't have enough basics

I'll just tell you the nitty-gritty!

To have logic in design, there must be a reason for using a single line, not just a pretty and clean one. You don't need to be a non-major and have never studied design theory. If you've majored but don't want to study because you're too tired of taking classes on design theory, start now.

Understand the principles and learn how to visualize keywords.

4 ️ Even if you don't have a shooter

Even tips on how to supervise printing without embarrassment!

I don't even know that print 1
When I go to work, I'm very worried about printing..

New designers and friends familiar with digital work often talk about this before getting started. “I've never done printing, but I don't think the company is saying anything.”

Package design is printed on the premise of mass production, so if a printing accident occurs, it may cause cost damage to the company, so be careful. However, I'm not asking you to study every detail like a printing shop employee.

As a designer, it's important to create data, create samples, and look at supervision so that the intended result is created. In class, I'll explain in detail how to proceed with printing without being embarrassed even if the company doesn't have a shooter.

Through classes

You can get things like this.

  • Define the brand and derive a concept for visualization
  • Direct design research method to express concepts
  • How to look at and analyze the elements of a good design
  • How to design your own ideas by organizing them into sketches without following someone else's designs
  • Express design concepts only through typography
  • Expressing design through symbolic elements
  • Visualize design concepts through direct elements
  • Rendering of various materials for cyan presentation
  • Data processing for printing and shipping cyan data

No 3D tools!

However, the dramatic effect created by two tools

It's not because they can't handle 3D that cosmetic package design is difficult. Of course, designers who specialize in designing cosmetic containers should know how to design containers using 3D tools. But what we're trying to do now is not just a designer that designs containers, but a cosmetics brand package design.

My idea is that designers should be able to create all the pictures they want with just an illustrator and Photoshop. Experience dramatic effects through classes that can be created with just two basic programs.

If you have taken this class,
Anyone can be a cosmetics brand package designer.
Become a junior who grows on his own without being a shooter!
